The thing that jumped out at me was the fact that we’re actually +32 in penalty differential. Which is like, completely glossed over after it is mentioned. They go on and on about how we rely heavily on special teams and then don’t really focus on the fact that we are good at getting power plays and how that may be beneficial

All season they’ve been hungry. They just don’t quit, and they’re one of the best come from behind (nice ) teams this season. I think that’s one of the biggest drivers of success in the playoffs. “How bad do you want it?” Analytics have a place, I agree, but they can’t really capture effort (at least to my knowledge, I defer to the stat mob if I’m wrong).

Look. It’s not wrong to identify that at 5v5 we’ve been average. With that being said. They wrote an entire novels worth about it while hedging throughout by adding in that we are a good team that can win it all. But also 5v5 stinks. But also we’re good. But also 5v5. Your right, they weren’t the 8 seed the year they took their first 3 series to game 7, that was the year they beat the Rangers. They were the 5 seed.
