Yes Farabee needs to fix it, but unfortunately the Flyers are on the cusp of making the playoffs. They do not have time to wait for him to fix it. If being demoted to the fourth line doesn't light a fire under his ass to do something then he can stay there.

And with him on the fourth line and with Coots hurt, it gives Brink a chance to play with better talent.

- WhiskeyMan

Yes, they do have the time. They have tons of time. This team is not a contender. The focus should be on playing the younger skilled players. Brink can still play with better talent. Light a fire under his ass by playing him on the 4th line. Same old bullpoop.

I would say the opposite. I think Farabee is a goner and Frost is a possibility.
- Phillywhiteout

Both players would be mistakes if they're moved.
Frost gas a other gear and even more growth to achieve.
Bee may be hurt. He hasn't looked himself at all recently so I'm not gonna go after him because until recently he was just fine

Big body, can’t teach that. He’s very patient and poised with the puck which you also can’t teach but has also hurt him at times. He’s a good skater. What exactly do you think he’s worth on the trade market? Asking what he excels at isn’t giving any substance to your view. Hanging on to him and playing it out is a much better option than his trade value. Especially because he won’t be commanding any type of high contract value.
- ClaudeFather

Like it or not most GMs want to plug guys into roles. Zamula is tall but skinny and not overly physical so GMs won’t view him as adefensive defenseman. No team is putting him on their penalty kill. He doesn’t put up a lot of points so he won’t be on a functioning power play. Hes kind of just a guy. Even on the Flyers he’s a placeholder until Andrae is ready.

Does anyone see Konecny being moved at the draft? Just thinking but we really didn't see the Schenn deal happening back at that draft. They have to be asking themselves if Konecny at over 8mil at 8 years is really worth it in the grand scheme of things?

The more and more I look at it I just don't see any logic to resigning him. His value will never be higher and what you could probably get in a package is a lot more helpful in your rebuild moving forward.

- J35Bacher

It will 100% depend on the offer.
If a cup contending team wanta TK then would a late 1st rd pick or 2 late 1st round picks be worth it? I'd say not at all.
If TK goes we need a top top prospect + in exchange for TK. TK can take any team up a notch or 2 by himself.
I'd have no issue keeping TK for 8 million a year. None at all.
If San Jose can move an injured hertl TK will always be tradable somehow some way.
Besides, the guy is a PK and SH goal machine. Every team can use his services

There is so much wrong with this, I'm not sure where to begin. It seems to me that you have already pigeon holed Zamula as a player. Zamula is listed at 6'4 200 lbs. That is certainly not small. Probably average size as for an NHL defenseman. He's 24 years old and has played 89 NHL games. We saw Travis Sanheim, who is significantly older recently put on weight and muscle. Zamula can't? He's already shown he has the puck skills to play on a PP. There was a time when if you asked me if Travis Konecny would ever play on the PK, I would've said not likely. Yet he has grown into a player that is now trusted to play on the PK. Your entire post comes from the view point that Zamula won't get bigger and stronger. Won't get better and improve and grow into roles as a player after 89 games of experience.

If either are still here next year it'll be because DB couldn't get something worked out, not for lack of trying.

Lol, if Zamula is gone then they'll be re-signing Staal and or The Condor for sure. Chances are already pretty high that they will re-up one of them.

Not all players can put on and maintain weight. They have tried for. 3 summers now with Zamula. It may or may not happen. He may get better. He may not. He has no real trade value to move. You keep him see what happens.

TK is staying.

Laughts too.

And Seeler already got extended.

Those are Torts' three franchise players.

This team is going to be molded according to Tortorella's vision. Hathaway and Poehling are more valued than Frost and Farabee.

The sharps in the league are licking their chops for another productive Flyers off-season. Easy pickings.

As a top 6 forward, wouldn't it almost be assumed that part of that role is the PP?

There is only one team in the league where Farabee's offensive production wouldn't put him in the top 6 and that's Dallas.

Farabee’s contract will be hard to move and get good value.
- psuhockey

The upside of his tools is way better than his trade value, would be dumb to trade him.
- ClaudeFather

Could be, to move him, you would need a trade partner who believes that.

Last year, when the cult members were in full-throated hysterics about the sudden locker room cancers of Kevin Hayes and Angelo, I posited the question: Which players will be next? Because with Tortorella, it will never end. He is only comfortable when he is in conflict.

It seems Farabee and Frost are next on the chopping block, especially if this team flames out of the playoffs. How soon before the rumors start popping up that Farabee and Frost are locker room poison? How soon before the cult members eat it up and spew it as fact across other platforms?

When is Bundy going to link Farabee and Frost to Cutter Gauthier or Kevin Hayes to discredit them?

At least co-GM Danny Briere is given direction. He doesn't have to guess who to trade, nor does he have to put on his big boy pants and put his mark on this team.

- StepfordSam

it wont be a lockerroom cancer situation, the spin will be that they dont have the balls when the going gets tough

I don’t think Zamula will ever be a quality NHL defenseman. Hopefully the Flyers did enough to pump his value to move him in the offseason.
- psuhockey

Not to add to the misery but Grans is the exact same as Zamula but Swedish. Nothing there.
