Once again with feeling...the Sabres got NHL goaltending while the Flyers got KHL/AHL level goaltending. The problem is that the Flyers goalies come in with a sub .800 save pct. every game and at the other end they only have two scorers (Tippett and TK).

Once again as slowly as I can type it. You said you disagreed with my point that the Sabres put the puck in the net more than the Flyers. It's really not a difficult concept. Now if you want to talk about why that is, that's a multi faceted issue but it still is not a reason for you to disagree with what I said.

Do Russians work on rebound control? Dear lord was he horrendous last night. Gotta give him some of these games but he’s looking at a 2 way offer at best if that’s what he is. He says he likes the game fast. He’s learning what fast actually means
- Just5

LOL, he's not going to get a two way offer. Do you know what a 2 way offer is?

Hopefully if the collapse does continue DB reverts back to the plan of an actual rebuild and stops with the nonsense that we need to keep guys like Laughton because of Character and locker room presence. Actual TOUGH decisions need to be made.
- landros 2

"jonesy" said there is no rebuild. Danny boy said he "owes" it to laughton to have a chance t wo with this group. these are fn delusional individuals.

A "rebuilding" team sat 3 22/23 year olds in favor of 2 37 yo d-men. Absolutely astounding

Have to look at the season in it's entirety. The Flyers are definitely an improved team this season. For most of the season, they play hard, check well, defend well and are competitive against most teams. They generally outshoot teams and carry play. Have to credit Tortorella for all of that. However, how many games have the Flyers lost where they have more shots on net but still lose. How despite carrying play for the majority of the game, they lose. Where the high level talent executes and beats them. The process is important but there is a next step from there. Saw it last night. Shot attempts at 5 on 5 were 58 to 44 Flyers. Scoring chances 30-20 Flyers. High danger chances 11-5 Flyers. Yet they lost. Buffalo's skilled players put the puck in the net more than the Flyers. This is the issue. It is skill and talent that wins in the NHL. Backed with structure. Don't out the cart before the horse. That is the issue and will always be the issue with Tortorella. The Poehling, Laughton and Hathaway's of the world are his core players and the type of players that he prefers. The players with balls. With just a sprinkling of skill players. Cart before the horse.

finally admitting prior teams (CC lead) didn't do this, why the change in your stance

Dude, I dismissed you a looooooooong time ago, but you refuse to get the hint and keep trying to goad me into your little childish endeavors. As I said the other night, you come off as a little sniveling attention seeking brat that is more like a gnat.

Of course I'm not disputing that the Sabres put the puck in the net more than the Flyers. I can read the scoreboard after all. My point that you refuse to see is that those goals prolly don't go in if the Sabres goalie was in the Flyers net. I'm not a goalie guru by any stretch of the imagination, but I could that dude was way off his game from the get go. I mean, look at his first save of the game. The Sabres could have put up a 10 spot if they had the same pressure on the Flyers net that the Flyers had on the Sabres net.

Actually, if you actually did dismiss him, you would just be a man and ignore him and actually do that. He's in your head though.

No reason why the two old stiffs should be in this lineup ( only if injuries occur ).
Attard / Ginning played a simple steady game , and were solid against the Panthers. EJ and MS should not see the ice rest of the season if the organization is true to its word.

You did dispute it. That's what it meant when you said you disagreed. Now you're just backtracking. Here we are with the probablies and the hypotheticals. Not to mention that there is zero evidence in any of my posts that I refuse to see anything. That's just bullpoop that you're making up.

So, Coots was scratched for the TO game on March 19th.

Since that game, the Flyers have looked uninspired, tired, "ball less", their systems have disappeared, and they are in free fall.

So does anything tie together? Did Torts lose the room by scratching Coots? Was that the card better left unplayed?

Just since that Toronto game, the Flyers have lloked like a completly different team.

I got to admit that Weise’s time in Philly made me want to immediately dismiss his opinions, but I pretty much agree with everything he said. I can appreciate the entertainment value of Torts, but I do think he’s full of poop. He preaches teamwork and accountability, but his antics are totally about feeding his own ego.

Sure didn’t help, but injuries and the Walker trade have played a big part. Goaltending has been pretty iffy too.

The flyers were dominant last night territorally. Like they’ve played most of the season. They cannot finish and are getting less than average goaltending. The losses of hart and Walker are too much for this team to withstand. With them a couple of these recent tilts go their way, and we’re talking playoffs.

I disagree that he was terrible. The first goal was essentially a breakaway with a highly skilled player. Even the best of NHL goalies get beat on breakaways. The 2nd and 3rd goals were snipes from skilled players in the dead slot. Not impossible saves but not egregious either. Horrendous defense and really good hard, well positioned shots. The 4th goal, I have an issue with. He lost his technique and folded in his right leg losing his butterfly position and exposed the net on the rebound

You didn't answer the question. Do you know what a 2 way deal is?

Your definition of better is different than mine. I tend to think if they finish with less points and lower in the standings then they are this year then by definition they would be worse but each to their own.

So NJD, Wash, Pitts, NYI can all finish better than they have played this year. If they play better, they will get more points.

So NJD get Markstrom this summer, they go on a tear to start next year with Hamilton back too. Carolina should be even better as they appear to have found their goalie, plus if they sign Guentzel. A full year of Roy in Long Island should improve the Islanders.

All these teams can finish in the high 90's to low 100's next year.

The Flyers can be better and finish low- mid 90's.

They are still behind those other teams, but have more points than this year.

Quite simple really.

Thanks for posting this. I thought all his ex players loved him and thought he was the key reason they played in the NHL. Was an eye opener for sure.
