Agree, i think most team would have moved on by now. I want Brind to get a cup, he was one of my favorite Flyers. Carolina has enough talent to win it this season. Guentzel needs to start scoring, assists are fine but he was traded for his goal scoring.

It's really hard to not root for the Hurricanes while Brindy is there

They're the antithesis of the Flyers. I have some doubts with Freddy and I'm not sure Kochetkov is much better.

Carter Hart news

For those following at home. The judicial pre trial meeting took place yesterday. The next meeting is next Tuesday to schedule the trial. Rumours are that the court in London is looking to expedite the trial….some suggested 2026….then 2025, now some think there is a chance for late this year.

part of me thinks they will try to push it out as far as possible to "punish" these players from getting on the ice anytime soon.

Not true at all. Reduce the players salaries. The scale would still be the same. they could drop down to like 70 games and be financially fine. The cap always for player /revenue split. But they Absolutely could reduce the games.

Greed keeps it where it’s at
- Stayin alive

How do they reduce the players salaries? What mechanism do they use to do that?

Obviously if league reduced games for example to 70 games the players contracts would be prorated down on per game rate to reflect that.

Obviously this would be cba issue but obviously players would do it. The point is it can be done and teams still profitable.

Personally I think 82 games is too many. But doubt they ever reduce games because owners and players want more money and I highly doubt they would ever lower schedule in any real significant manner

The point was more that your statement was factually wrong as you wrote it

- Stayin alive

Players don't get paid by the game. Again, for contracts that have already been negotiated. What mechanism do they use to lower player salaries to make up for the lost revenue by playing less games? My statement was correct. For now on, if you move my posts from another thread, I will not respond.

This is a RANT!! I would like you to be warned and also I'm so POed I would like to wreck FRONTIER AIRLINES.
This is my equivalent to a PSA.
RANT ALERT!!! RANT ALERT!!!!
Yesterday I left my home at 9:00 AM to go to the Tampa Airport. I had packed my bags the day before in order to be at the terminal by 11:58 AM. I had purchased a flight from Frontier Airlines and at the time of that purchase, a week prior, they never mentioned a seat assignment.
Arriving at the airport I went to the Frontier desk and requested a boarding pass, which I paid for with an added priority boarding (all at extra cost). No mention was made of a need for a seat there while paying for the privilege of early boarding.
I arrived at the boarding gate and a delay occurred due to a lack of staff. 1/2 hour went by and then we qued up. I was the second priority person. I was told I could not board as I had no seat assigned. There was an offer previously of a $300 voucher if you gave up your seat. I didn't want this as I was going to visit my sister, who is in the hospital.
They then offered a voucher for $250 for us to walk away. $50 less for being involuntarily shoved aside. Fair, eh?
I was not seduced by an offer from a PERFECTLY CORRUPT CORPSERATION. They do this deliberately by overbooking flights to ensure a full plane and to hell with those left behind. It's just the 'cost of doing business' in their corporate model.
I asked instead for a refund that I was told would take 5-7 days.
If I were more poor (I'm fortunately not.) how would I book another flight? They had no flights available for at least two days.
I was enraged and since the security in airports does not favor loud people, (I am one.). I walked away and figured I would return to the desk and ask for a manager.
What I learned is that all the managers were at the gates dealing with the BS they caused across all of their flights.
I waited an hour.
Since my bag had been loaded, I questioned as to what procedure would be followed to return it. I was informed by a clerk (incorrectly) that it was MY RESPONSIBILITY to get it back. More joy.
I did discover that the bag that was dropped in Philly would be on a return flight the next day and that I would be notified about delivery. The manager and the baggage folks at least knew what they were doing. They probably get a lot of practice with these situations.
I contacted my Credit Card company and told them I was contesting/disputing the cost of the fight and any added charges made by FRONTIER AIRLINES. I got immediate credit.
My return flight was to be on American which is a far more professional company and I took the economy fare as they would rectify any situation and I needed no further guarantees. (I could be wrong, it's happened before.)
Since I am not in Philly I lost that fare as American explicitly states NO REFUNDS are due in this circumstance.
I lost maybe $400 in fares and associated fees. I spent a full day not going further than my doorstep. Two hours on the road, tolls for the expressway, and a $14 parking charge later, my hair was afire and I had no one I could bite.
If you mention FRONTIER AIRLINES TO ME, I will slowly turn.....

Honest question. Why do you think the players union would accept making less money? Especially on previously signed contracts.

As such, I suspect that Joel Farabee was at the top of the list of Flyers players with whom Tortorella is currently unhappy.
- Bill Meltzer

I remember someone on this forum stating that Farabee was at the top of Tort's "no-balls" list ... oh ya, it was me ... again. Not bad for someone that can't evaluate hockey players.

And I agree Bill about Frost, he had a bad play in OT and not a good game against the Islanders, but he has played well down the stretch here and hopefully will be given more chances, especially in OT. I think he has crossed the bridge here from what I can see.

The issue with Tortorella expecting the Flyers to be different now is that there is no different available. He has had the team playing at playoff level intensity for the entire season. There is no more.

you don't say....will await the rizzo

only thing they may have to offer over some others is a quicker path to the nhl as the flyers lack talent. thats all I got. Me I would want no part of philly either as when you drill it down you see LHV with cement head in charge.

correct 100%. that being said the players need the owners more than the owners need the players.

not sure how they make it work laying less games to end the season earlier. Just start it earlier. it is lame having it end in june.

Carolina is a weird team. They always do well in the regular season and are always picked by some pundits to win it all at the start of every season (this season included) and then they go belly up once the playoffs start.
- Phillywhiteout

They are 32-31 under Brindamour. 5th most playoff wins in the league since 18-19.

It's extremely difficult to realize that a player has been in a scoring slump. That certainly sets you apart from everyone else. To evaluate what the coach is thinking when he puts a player like Farabee on the 4th line.
