I'm going to say something hat I just posted on twitter.

All this talk about sitting Trouba, Goodrow, Vesey, etc is useless. Whining about it like pissing in the wind. None of us are privy to conversations between coach and players. Trouba is the captain of this hockey team, The coach, the captain and the team are going to have meetings, discussions and will try and correct the issues. The players in that locker room LOVE Trouba. Sitting him could have other adverse effects on the team. Also, the playoff rotation will be between Rempe, Brodszinski and Cuylle. A career AHLer, a sideshow who will be spotted depending on game, series and opponent and a rookie who has slowed down significantly probably bc he hasn't played this much hockey in his life.

There is no doubt that's true. I think moreso for Trouba and Goodrow over Vesey but I agree with your points. The team and organization love these guys, and they are going to ride the people they believe in. All three of those guys are going to be depended on to shut down top opponents in the playoffs, kill important penalty kills, and play important minutes late in games. At the end of the day, fans always find a way to complain about something. You can never make everyone happy

There is way more that goes into a team and a season than what we see. Its more important for Trouba to stand up, acknowledge he isn't at his best and move on and be better. Laviolette seemed a little annoyed after the game and basically told everyone to pipe down, he is just getting back from an injury that he was probably playing through for months and give him time.

What a race for that final wild card spot here. The Pens have worked their way back in it. We will see who wants it more.

I am trying to subtly make this point. WE ALL THINK 79-4 is the wsy to go. Analytics got it wrong. Sample size is certainly one of the reasons in our opinions

One thing I think everyone can agree upon is that Lavy knows what he is doing, has watched tons of film, and looked over the numbers. He does have the "luxury" with where NYR stands, to tinker a bit so he is certain as to the lines and pairings as playoffs begin.

Would be bonkers if NJ somehow made their way back in and faced us in round 1. Probably won’t happen

I'd be more worried about the Isles

Only 7 games left and too much ground for them to make up. 6 points is a lot with so few games remaining

I’d like to avoid Crosby with a chip on his shoulder if possible. Isles don’t scare be and would be a great series. Flyers as well.

We all agree that Miller should be paired with Schneider. Analytics doesn’t agree however!?

From vince m

“Something discussed in the story is that Miller-Trouba pair actually grades out slightly better than Miller-Schneider.

79-8
GA/60: 2.44
xGF: 47.7%

79-4
GA/60: 2.8
xGF: 46%”

Maybe, an hear me out, the 3 of them are not singular problems but a problem as a collective.

I’ll tell ya one thing, tonight’s game isn’t going to come easy. This team better come ready to play because NJ is out for some revenge and they are going to have to match that emotion

That has to be the expectation. The Devils are a broken team. They need to take advantage.

On the other hand they will come out fast and angry. Best thing might be to put Rempe out for the opening FO. Have at it and get it over with.

The Rangers also love letting teams they have the brink climb their way back.

Likely the lack of consistent sleep but I feel like reminding everyone that #NYR has accepted the 5v5 results of Goodrow rather than attempting to replace him with Brodzinski.

5v5 season goal differentials:
Goodrow: -15 on ice / +20 off
Brozinski: -4 on / +9 off

Margins matter.

Devils on the end of a back to back tonight. Rangers better be up for this game more than they were against Pitt. Hope Rempe plays tonight, he might have made a difference on Monday.

For sure.
Remember the last game if they miss out on the President's Trophy by two points. Not that it really matters and can point to a number of games they let the opponent into the game, just sucks.

I'm just telling you it's tracked, and if the value of Goodrow is for him to win shorthanded defensive zone faceoffs then he's not doing that.

Zibanejad is 39%, what should we do just not even send somebody in for shorthanded faceoffs?
