Tage Thompson is one hell of a find.

Was traded for. In the oreilly trade. After Murray tried to rush rebuild they corrected. Amazing how a team can change course and admit mistakes instead of doubling down like risto extension

Are you being serious or trying to be comedic? This place is a ghost town after a Flyers win. When they lose this place lights up. If they were winning all the time it would be the Sound of Silence.

Funny, was just about to say the same thing about this board lighting up after a loss. Was scrolling through some of the posts and great to see all the "fans" out in full force. Paying to go boo them, calling the old Flyers scumbags, the typical pontificating by the "great one"....pretty sad how a Flyers loss makes so many so happy.

As bad as the pens are…. Only a few points behind Philly yet there’s backing for signing players like tk.

Crosby with 4 goals in 2 games. The guy is still that good at his age.

What about the pontificating done by “fans” with every useless win during a supposed rebuild?🤷‍♂️

Just tied Wayne Gretzky for most consecutive seasons at a point per game.

I hate that he plays for the Pens, but if he played for the Flyers they'd already have a statue of him outside the WFC, but Philly isn't allowed to have nice things apparently.

TK has been pretty brutal lately. When he is bad he can be really bad. Certainly gives me pause in wanting to ink him to a long term contract. He is just effing lazy with his passes and they almost always lead directly to scoring chances for the opponent. If they get a good offer for him they gotta cut bait! The other worry is that he plays a pretty physical game for a smallish guy and tends to get banged up. That Coots contract...

IMO it’s not even debateable. You simply CANT give tk the deal he’s gonna want and get close too. He’s a nice player. In a non cap world wouldn’t care about it sign him. But in cap world you just can’t. The most I’d go is like 5 years maybe 6.5-7 per and he’s not taking that. Nor should he if he can get more. Which is likely.

Because it’s a rare off year where there’s a clump of like 5 or so teams that shouldn’t be in playoff race that aren’t good enough to pull away. 8 seed won’t even hit 90 points. You can say same thing about why many teams are in playoff position this year for the 8th seed

I still think it's gonna take more than 90 points to get in, but we shall see. I was thinking 94 points would get the Flyers in, but that probably isn't the case now (they won't get to 94 points, but might not have to).

It’s so dumb actually. When looking at the clump of thurds fighting for last playoff spot the loser point is just too much of a factor.
The system needs to go to a 3-2-1 system. It’s ridiculous now how teams play strictly for the loser point. It waters down the standings way too much. But nah let’s have the stupid playoff seeding and point system the way it is. NHL way to slow to adapt unless it’s something woke

The 3-2-1 system would make too much sense. The old heads would never go for it.

Slowly but surely, you'll inch your way towards turning your back on your hero. Then act like you knew it all along. Just like you did with Fletcher.

Not at all ... nothing has changed. I think Torts has done a lot of good things for this franchise and credit him for a lot more than you would. But facts are facts. He has been unraveling over the past few weeks here as I posted before, and I believe its impacted the team and worse, and I hate drama. Add to this my belief that the number 1 thing that has sunk this team is the wretched power play and Torts has apparently just accepted a bad power play instead of doing something more visible about it, and what I think are dumb decisions to play forwards only 5 minutes in a game, or worse playing them less than 10 minutes when you have 11 forwards. These are just actions I cannot justify or get behind. The difference between you and I is I base my opinions not on reputation or the past, but on actions.

Point percentage be damned, the Flyers still clinging to 3rd place. They just have to put together a 3 game winning streak and that should do it. It starts Friday against Buffalo.
