there would be as much complaining, but slightly less intense and with less hatred for the guy lol. - Pat1993
Hatred is a big word ... I don't hate the guy at all, he could be a useful 3rd line player. What we object to is the price Bergy paid for him but that's not the player's fault.
But ... he's very expensive for a 3rd line player ... |

it isn't necessarily "hatred" in the strict sense of the word, but my point was just that he wouldn't have been a scapegoat for fans like he has been numerous times if it weren't for the trade and his contract.
and I get it, I do it too, it's a pretty normal reaction to have when you think about it.

I think it's safe to say though his left column stirred up all kinds of emotions for you.
oh, the memories. - Pat1993
There are few players I hate, unless they are bumholes in general.
Just cause you are not a fan of a players game, does not mean you hate the person.
Also, after months of physio, I am not able to move my neck properly to the left and right. |

Now that Mulder is retired, I doubt it. Leech technology is beyond anyone's knowledge base.
I may need to get some kind of bionic neck.
His play almost ruined my life.

He decided to show up.
Now, can he do it consistently over a longer period?
Maybe the 3 goalie system was not such a bad idea, if it helped Primeau figure out his NHL game.

that is precisely what differentiates good goalies from great ones.
we'll see, but I do like this Monty/Primeau tandem so far.

Agreed, even though I have been very critical of Drouin's game while he was in Montreal, I never hated the guy as a person. He was in over his head in Montreal and I get it.
I just thought he didn't have the psychological makeup of an elite hockey player ... I'm actually happy things are working out for him in Colorado in a secondary role. |

maybe you should also look into bringing back Plekanec's turtleneck technology, combined with the leeches it could be very efficient.
or maybe you'd just lose consciousness because of the leeches in your neck preventing the blood from going to your head. either way you should try it, in the name of science.

Maybe it just needs more time and rest.
Also, Armia is helping with his 13 goals and only 6 assists.
Just happy everyone decided to move on, and that a few more players will be gone within 18 months or so... I think next summer (2025) is the big year they really start to push and maybe try to get a big time scorer added to the lineup somehow (trade / UFA).
Next season, if injury free, might still be a long season, but I do think they will end up close to a wild card spot and not be out of it by the start of the New Year.
And if you are close to a wild card spot til the last few weeks of the season, who knows what can happen.

+1 ... Primeau has been excellent when they put him in net lately.
His positioning is near perfect which is quite an improvement but what impressed me the most is his calm and poise, he's no longer " all over the place". Maturity in goalies is something that must never be underestimated.
Just guessing but working a year with a vet goalie (Jake Allen) might have done wonders for him.
I actually feel at ease when the opponent enters our zone contrary to last year when I would hold my breath.
What a difference a year make ... last year when I watched him play with the Rocket he seemed to be struggling.
Time will tell if he can maintain this level of performance but I like what I'm seeing from him lately. |

Just like I never hated Drouin, the person, don't hate Armia or Dvorak. They do not seem to cause problems and seem to play with effort, but they were given contracts / acquired with expectations that were unrealistic.
If they leave and have a solid season, like Drouin this year, good on them.
They are just not a fit on the team for what was expected and now just use up a player slot that could be used on a kid to gain valuable NHL experience.
(And cap space, which is not a big issue right now.) - Mashadar
This take!! For sure. No malice or ill-will. Just over-paid and over termed with too many expectations for them to punch above their weight due to the contracts given and by whom they were gifted from…. |
