Continuing to play Deslauriers is absurd. Could play Brink and have 4 decent lines.
- MJL

Agreed but after the last 2 games and since they are convinced they need a goon vs the Isles there was no chance Torts was gonna sit his punching bag. That being said, they still should sit Atkinson for Brink. Cam is shot.

Isn't that why we have Hathaway?

Most important game of the year, and a scoring talent is sat in favour of a fighter....

- TheFreak

On a team that has been struggling to score. Put in a player who is a literal black hole offensively.

If they can only muster up a goal against a woeful Chicago team, you aren't doing sh!t the rest of the way.

My preference would have been to shut him down for the remainder of the year. Set him up with a training and nurtrion regiment, and let him strengthen his upper body. Put on some muscle and make sure he is 100%.

Flyers luck...big hit from Clutterbuck or Martin and he is out into next season.

I like Seeler with Drysdale at least on paper. Might be a good pairing. Glad to see Ginning remaining as well. These are good games for the younger players to play. I’d rather have Brink in over Cam or ND.

Truth is this team could not afford to lose a single player that started the season. Losing Walker was enough. The opposing teams starting amping up the O zone pressure and the transition game was gone. Then the overuse of Coots, Sanheim and York kicked in. Add in Seeler and an overachieving team was exposed.

I want them to get in or lose out, truth is they are in a dead heat with the Wings, and the Wings have the upper hand on top end talent and experience.

On the Bright side, I bet my dad $100.00 of scratch offs at the beginning the season, I took the Flyers missing the playoffs by 6 points. Win or lose I will still watch

Well I have a game tonight, best friend on my team is an Islanders fan

I feel better not having Johnson out there but Deslauriers? I didn't watch much of the Blackhawk game but Lycksel is right on the doorstep of nothing his first goal.

Well...he explains it in the first article...the players convince themselves they are tired, and the end result is they feel tired. Has nothing to do with the style of play they play, the 11-7 crap, and over playing 2 older players coming back from major injuries....it's just because they have talked themselves into being tired. He said the same on injuries being worse because they have convinced themselves they are more hurt than they are.

Coach tells the world that his decisions over the course of the season are not the problem, news at 11.

In his world players never get tired and can never be overplayed and never be to injured. I'm waiting for Ryan Ellis and Risto to suit up because it was all in their heads.

I thought the rub some dirt on it era was over, for some coaches they'll take it to the grave.

going with comfort food. I for once do see why ND is in, still don't agree but I think Torts is hoping it gives the group a little confidence, add isles are a physical team and you can count on ND being in the box and sitting, it will be easy for Torts to play his other players. Zero idea on Cam, but hoping he comes with a chip on his shoulder and has his best game.

This is kinda cool. I hope he can get 25...Iknow it's a lot, but it would move him past Read and into some nice company...

What did Brink do that both Atkinson and ND, two players that have no future with the Flyers, are playing before him?

Thinking like this is why the Flyers have not won anything in 50 years. Caveman era is over, and ND is the poster child for the caveman era. Maybe if you have some elite talent, then you can waste a spot on a caveman, but the Flyers need to squeeze every ounce of skill out of their players that they can.

I’m good with ND…it would rather see Brink stay in for Atkinson. I have not seen much from Gurianov…but not much of an opportunity so far. I’ve liked Lycksell but I prefer a heavier lineup against the isles.
