I don't think "It wasn't me" is going to work.
There's great video of the boat losing power twice, just before the crash.

And according to CNN (see below), it was a local pilot. Looks like it wasn't his fault, but poor bastard - how would you ever get over this.
"The container ship Dali, which had just left the Port of Baltimore and was en route to Colombo, Sri Lanka, was not being piloted by its own crew, but by local pilots who are used specifically to avoid accidents like the one that occurred early Tuesday morning.
"Pilots move ships in and out of the Port of Baltimore," said Maryland Transportation Secretary Paul Wiedefeld at a news conference Tuesday.
The pilots get on board just outside of local channels, and take the ships into ports. Outbound ships like this one take the ships from the ports out to open water.
This is true for ships navigating ports, channels and rivers throughout the nation. The idea is that local pilots are aware of hazards in each port, river and channel. It it too early to know the cause of Tuesday's accident, Wiedefeld said."

Similar thing happened back in the early 80s with the Skyway bridge near the mouth of Tampa Bay, except much shorter span.
Not good for the cars that went into the drink. Probably gonna be a sizeable death toll on this one. Hopefully not....

In unrelated news, Portzline has a scathing article about the Blue Jackets in the Athletic today.
It absolutely rips Doug MacLean a new one. |

It's going to be interesting to see how quickly they can get this rebuilt.
IIRC, there was a bridge across an interstate in NY (or somewhere in NE US) that they repaired in a weekend.
Obviously this is on a much, much bigger scale, but it's amazing how fast this poop can get done if there is just the will.
The Eglinton Crosstown excepted, of course. |

My wife worked for a guy who was a former scout under Doug MacLean when he had worked as the GM in Columbus. It was the biggest feather in his cap and he bragged about it at every opportunity he got - like in corporate meetings or whatever situation he could - but he was a complete tool and an bumhole.

So, I'm doing my semi-daily rounds online looking for deals on space rocks.
I find some guy selling meteorites on eBay and the photos don't appear to match his descriptions. I contact him through private message and tell him his listings don't look right and he might get accused of being a scammer. I offer to take a proper look at them.
Instead of ignoring me or telling me to fack off like most people do, he seems cool and we start talking. He buys storage units like the old TV show Storage Wars. He bought a unit full of tools and meteorites. Doesn't know jack about space rocks, how much they're worth, or how to go about selling them. He asks me if I am interested in buying his rocks and sends me some photos. I can see from the photos that this is some serious $$$ he lucked up on in that storage locker.
He wants to meet in person, but he's on the other side of the country. He happens to live close to a partner of mine who is also a dealer. I put them in touch.
Last night my buddy contacts me and says he bought everything the guy had and is throwing me a $2k finders fee.
Being a pushy know-it-all finally pays off.
After taxes, that will still be a decent little chunk of change for sending a few emails and a handful of texts.
Another day in the life of a meteorite pimp. - GalacticStone

I'm assuming that most of the required equipment will already be there.

It will take weeks to clear out debris, then build (or improve on current) foundations.

Playing Puckoku.
I had assumed that Dave Andreychuk would have scored 5 goals during a single playoff run with the Sabres.
I was wrong. |
