34 was named one of NHL 3 Stars of the week.
He was chirped on here by a couple all week long.
He is on pace to score the most goals in one season in last 30 years. He is the best 2 way centre in the league. Rockets, Hard, Teddy, and best player to ever wear the blue and white.
Some clearly non-hockey folks still feel the need to chirp him. Fantastic. |

58 Goals (so far)
92 Points (so far)
Responsible 2 way game
Ya bud terrible.
You are definitely one of the few folks that for whatever reason chirp him throughout the season(s) every chance you get.
Man honestly I’m not even getting into a debate on anything 34 or even hockey with you for that matter - not worth it. |

So, I'm doing my semi-daily rounds online looking for deals on space rocks.
I find some guy selling meteorites on eBay and the photos don't appear to match his descriptions. I contact him through private message and tell him his listings don't look right and he might get accused of being a scammer. I offer to take a proper look at them.
Instead of ignoring me or telling me to fack off like most people do, he seems cool and we start talking. He buys storage units like the old TV show Storage Wars. He bought a unit full of tools and meteorites. Doesn't know jack about space rocks, how much they're worth, or how to go about selling them. He asks me if I am interested in buying his rocks and sends me some photos. I can see from the photos that this is some serious $$$ he lucked up on in that storage locker.
He wants to meet in person, but he's on the other side of the country. He happens to live close to a partner of mine who is also a dealer. I put them in touch.
Last night my buddy contacts me and says he bought everything the guy had and is throwing me a $2k finders fee.
Being a pushy know-it-all finally pays off.
After taxes, that will still be a decent little chunk of change for sending a few emails and a handful of texts.
Another day in the life of a meteorite pimp. |

You’re probably one of those unusual pushy know it alls who actually know something (when it comes to space debris anyway).

Space debris, Florida fossils, and arguably some hockey.
I'm clueless on everything else. Some would say the hockey also. |

Thanks. I've been doing this almost 20 years and this is the first time I've gotten a fee of this size for just putting two people in touch. I told my buddy : "Hey, let's do this twice a week."
Usually I get ignored. Sometimes they tell me to (frank) off. In fact, my avatar/profile quote "U Jealous of my Meteor" comes from one such interaction under similar circumstances. |

Still to be determined. Judging from the photos and what my buddy told me, it's probably about $20k worth of specimens at retail prices, maybe more. It was a small handful of very large irons (one weighed 200 pounds) and a bunch of smaller "thumbnail" collector specimens. Also a dealer-sized batch of tektites. It's gonna take a while to sort it all out and find buyers for the smaller pieces. My buddy was happy as (frank), so I'm getting the fee, which makes me happy as (frank) as well.
The storage unit guy said he sold the tools for double the cost of the entire locker, and the meteorites were just extra profit. Said it was his best locker find of the year.

We'll work in hockey somehow. I'll wear a Leafs jersey and my wife will wear Lightning gear.
"Score like Matthews" will be the new catchphrase when I buy a profitable locker.

I've watched some of that Storage Wars show years ago and was tempted by the idea. But, I figured that the TV show was horsepoop and not nearly as interesting as the producers made it look.
I bet they buy a lot of dud lockers full of worthless junk for every big score like this one. The guy said as much to my buddy.
I can't afford to eat a huge loss of investment. If I pay several grand for a storage locker and it's full of old clothes and smelly furniture, then I'm not eating for that month or two.
You know the old saying - it takes money to make money. |

The joke I often tell is I spent $100,000 over 10 years to store $600 worth of crap.
Almost a true story. |
