I'd rather Murray play over Jones if it came to it.

If he gets his expected AHL stint.

For what its worth.

Bruins are ranked 1st for toughest remaining schedule. They have a nightmare 7 game stretch here.

Leafs are 16th.

Leafs have 2 games in hand, its not over yet for home ice.

Didn't see.

But after taking a glance I would imagine 20-25. Bit easier than the Leafs.

If he was healthy and had played himself into game readiness, I’d take him over any of them. Of course in order to get game ready, he’d probably re-injure himself.

On Woll vs Sammi, it seems pretty clear that Keefe hasn’t decided which is while they’ll split the remaining games. Unless Woll shows himself demonstrably better, Sammi would likely get the nod because of experience.

I think its easier to start Sammy. If he sucks, Woll has the demeanor to step in. If Woll starts and crumbles, the pressure on Sammy is amplified.
- drexel

This is logical, so of course Keefe will do the opposite.

A little easier. Leafs can't afford to let off the gas.

You seriously don’t expect the Leafs to show up two games in a row do you? Certainly not against two good teams like Oilers and Canes.

Agree completely. Unless one or the other shines and the other flops, in the next 12 games or so, Sammy starts. Not that it matters! Leafs core are great players but, between Marner and MM and Willie, tough to find the backbone of a warrior between them. Soft doesn’t win playoffs. Our D is getting better with McCabe and Ed, Benoit and I like Timmins……forwards are tougher with Bert and Domi and McMann but you can’t have your best 3 forwards being so soft. Honestly don’t think there are three softer top end players in the league.

God bless Leafs fans.

We lost an away game to a team 1 point from the top of the standings, less than 24 hours after a home game.

Carolina rested all day Saturday.

And we have injuries to key players.

And the final score was 2-1.

But yeah, the Leafs "didn't show up."

Even I am not female doging about the loss. That should tell you something right there

Woll looked wobbly at first but he went on to have a hell of a game. It was a fun game to watch.

But...

The only problem I have with last nights game, and 50% of their other losses, is that they resemble playoff style hockey...close checking, hard forechecking, tight gaps, etc...and the Leafs aren't really good at that style. Better this year because of the few additions but it seems too easy to shut down Matthews, JT, Willy and Marner still.

Hoping that changes this year but still a concern of mine. Which, btw, is my biggest concern with goaltending and making sure the right one out the 15 the Leafs have, gets the #1 job sooner than later.

Low scoring games might be the golden ticket this year so the net better be locked soon.

I agree with the sentiment - they still almost pulled it out and with some puck luck maybe would have. I don’t think the full 60 was bad at all especially against a team as good as that. But the lapses were awful and those simple things that they do a lot unfortunately.

But it was the way they played. They lost because of the lack of structure in their play defensively. Some Leafs fans are just chirping cause they are hyper critical - but the knock of the inconsistent play is correct to me. They seem to be able to pull a couple together or even a stretch. To me though the playoffs require a consistent dedication to playing within a structure and stick to it game in/out.

I hope they find their rhythm playoff time or at least manage to string together a run of solid games at both ends.

I should make multiple versions of this meme. If the Leafs put distance behind them, the Lightning logo gets smaller in the mirror. If the Bolts gain ground, the logo grows.

I trust Wedgie's mathenating though. I don't expect the Lightning will catch them, but it's fun to introduce some suspense, even if it's mostly imaginary.
