Just a passing thought but since coots scratched why not play rj? And don’t say he’s injured. He’s not. Didn’t miss 1 game for avs - Stayin alive
How would that work exactly since he is not injured apparently?

I hope the woke mob aren't going to try and cancel fighting in the NHL just because former tough guys are dying like flies. |

Do you honestly think anyone could lead this team to being a cup contender? Scotty Bowman on his best day wouldn't be able to that. Torts didn't build the team... - Don Nachbaur
He's had a massive say in the roster since he got here almost two years ago. More than any other coach in the league. That's why Angelo and Hayes got dropped off in the woods like dogs, and he also almost got Briere to dump Sanheim for old Torey Krug. |

I hope they do. It’s useless. No need for fighting. At all. Give 1 reason or example where “fighting” solves anything in hockey? Or is beneficial? |

Spontaneous heat of the moment fights are fine. These ridiculous staged fights between players who are only in the league for one reason. To show who is the tougher guy to justify their existence, are completely useless and should be legislated out of the game.

Oh, I don't have any good reasons. I just don't like anything that's woke, like ending something that causes unnecessary brain disease, or letting women vote in elections. |

Does Couts get in tomorrow for Boston? - Flyfly
I doubt it - torts owes it to the players who put forth such a gallant effort to go back out there with no changes |

I'm gonna say YES cause Boston isn't as fleet a team as the Laffs and Canes, and tends to more physical than those teams. There has to be some sort of method to Torts' madness. I hope anyway. - Phillywhiteout
I think so as well. I didn't think it would be two games might have to hedge my bet |

All joking aside he's got the POHO in his corner... he's gonna be given every opportunity to prove himself... basically gonna get treated like a 1st-round pick.
Let's see if any of it will be justified. |

Well you gonna scratch coots… tell rj he’s in lineup. Get here or breach of contract. Of course if he’s truly injured (fake news) this doesn’t apply |

Spontaneous heat of the moment fights are fine? Maybe I’ll use that logic at some point today when I go shopping.
There is no reason to allow fighting in hockey. Ever. Let alone as we have medical proof beyond doubt the affects of fighting. If anyone wants to see fighting watch a legal sanctioned boxing match.
I too used to be of the opinion heat of the moment fighting was fine. But as we see more affects and things it’s just not needed.
I used to think well it helps police the game…. But it doesn’t. You don’t like a dirty hit? Call a penalty. Score on pp. that’s much more effective. Or god forbid start legally hitting and checking harder and more. That’s much more entertaining watching 2 teams with legal crushing hits and effects from it. |

Win what though?
Win games to get into the playoffs where they are most likely a one and done?
Some people want more. |

Let’s assume Torts is justified in his benching of Courturier. Let’s ignore Torts’ complete lack of professionalism and accountability. What does that say about the captain’s contract? |

Go watch all of Farabee's goals this year, and then come back once with your tail between your legs. Walks in all alone and misses the net .. the definition of an OK player. - jd250
Just reviewed all of Farabee's 21 goals this year. You made the statement that Farabee is only good with tips and rebounds. Only 6 of Farabee's goals this season were scored on tip ins or deflections. |

What does that say about the captain’s contract? - mikeyo27 It says that that contract is gonna be a total albatross , but I think most of us already kind of saw that coming unfortunately. Perhaps Coots goes off the rails and demands a trade. Wonder how that would play out? Probably not well cause I don't think anyone will want to invest in him long term.
