Looking at the standings...
Really hope Minny can keep it rolling and Vegas continues their slide. Would be so rewarding to see them drop out of the playoffs
Love to see an LA and Edmonton first round series
Nashville is so hot right now.. that first in the West position is gonna be important
Toronto is getting locked into a first round against Florida or Boston. Amazing - NewYorkNuck
I saw another stupid SN article on “who do the leafs prefer to play in first round, FLA or BOS”. That’s a nightmare of a choice. I’m sure if you polled leaf fan, they would say neither. Anyone but those two.

Probably the two worst teams for them to face |

Does it matter they will be a first round knockout no matter who they face. |

I'm all for leaf hate but they do have some quality scorers on their roster. Get some decent goaltending and who knows.

We’ve owned the Preds this season & I prefer meeting them. |

Been reading a feW articles and comments lately about fighting and even hitting in hockey. May I suggest to those who don't like any physicality in this game, that has physical attributes as part of the game, maybe you take up watching ping-pong or better yet, the SHL. |

It’s bs fights after clean hits that has to be dealt with. Boarding is dangerous & not fully dealt with. One being reckless hits the other the turtling & not ready to absorb hits. Imo too many D play the puck like they’re entitled to immunity no different than goalies playing pucks like they’re untouchable. Any player turning his back when contact is coming is just as responsible in many cases then there is players who cannot use caution when needed.
That meathead Rempe is outright reckless & DOPs no balls to acknowledge it.
Physical hockey is fine it’s not fine for those who cross the line out of outright stupidity & usually are the unskilled 4th line grunts trying to keep a job. |

Charging is another penalty that needs to be called more, many times, a player is taking a run from 20 or more feet away, but because a player glides for 3 feet before contact, or they haven't raised elbow or it isn't a head shot, then it goes uncalled.
The reverse hit is another penalty often uncalled. I haven't seen 1 yet, that shouldn't have been an interference penalty. |

I agree the high speed ramming is a charge. Again reckless play by those who don’t know how to hit cleanly. That’s on development & coaching from an early age up to the pros. |

What does the link have to do with Hronek? - Reubenkincade
Contract size & amount. Seravelli says in the 8’s & stats show 2nd tier compliment to a #1 D price tag. |

On interference & non interference calls it’s murky at best. Personally I don’t think impeding a player without the puck is acceptable. The call on Hughes a lil while back was ticky tacky when much more goes on elsewhere in a game. Let them play when D doesn’t obstruct or call the obstruction especially by the D on dump ins. Net front banging is part of the game not the cross checking there or on board scrums. Too much stick work these days & less body on body. They don’t push with the body they cross check too often. |

I doubt you'll find many, or possibly even any fans that want fighting removed from the game entirely. However, staged fights and the days of the enforcer should be on their way out of the league. |

Absolutely nothing, unless you want to infer that his best career stats have something to do with his new d partner.

The problem with fighting is the rule that you have to keep your helmets on at all times, who wants to throw punches when you can easily break your hand like that. There's a reason most fights now are grappling matches that don't really solve anything. I know WHY that rule came in, but it's done more harm than good. |

You really don't have a great feel for contracts, there is a site that aggregates player salary based on growing salary, cap and performance that might be helpful.

My feel is opinion based. Hronek is complimentary to Hughes & a good compliment. Not a D that carries a pairing but still a top 4 Dman Rumour is he’s offered 8yrs for 52-54m which is 6.5-6.75m/yr. Seravelli suggesting in the 8’s isn’t happening. Core players see the lions share of cap increases not 2nd tier players. Canucks 1st offer is just that & will be more once said & done imo. 8/7.5m my guess. Hronek hasn’t shown he can carry his own pairing away from Hughes & the underlying numbers show this. PA signs fair deals & they both will compromise on the final deal. Other than points his performance doesn’t say wow.
What is your contract offer? |

If they aren't deep enough and shouldn't win at least a round they have no business trading away picks and prospects. - golfingsince
If we lose in the first round we get our 3rd round pick back. Focus on the positives |

It pains me to say this but I think TO pumps BOS. Florida is definitely still the class of the east |

Hronek at 7.5m is 8.5% of the 2024/25 cap. Toews will be 7.25m next season as Makars sidekick. Hronek is not superior to Toews but more of a decent comparable. |
