Sure it does ... consider with a true 1C, Frost is your 2C (if he keeps his play up), Couts is 3C and Poehling is 4C .. that is pretty strong IMO
- jd250

Wait, Frost is no longer an AHL player and is now a 2C? How long will that last in your eyes? Probably as long as Tortorella's current lineup.

Longevity not winning. He hasn't won in my definition in a long time. More importantly, the Flyers won't win with him as the head coach. It's not hate, it's reality.
- MJL

Win what, the Stanley Cup? You can say that about most coaches can't you.

The facts are that he gets the most out of his teams. Some players and fans hate his style while other really like it. I have heard more positive than negative form former players.

No, he doesn't. He improves team and makes them better. He doesn't take them far in the playoffs. I've consistently stated that my standard is not winning the cup, as that is very difficult and takes good fortune. My standard is developing and coaching the team into a legit cup contender.

He underachieved with a very talented Rangers team. Didn't do squat in Vancouver. He improved Columbus but ultimately didn't take them anywhere. In the big picture he hasn't done anything since leaving TB almost 20 years ago.

What do you think Briere and Jones would prefer, looking for another coach or getting out from under Couturier's contract?
- jd250

can we do both?

Those criticizing Tortorella are the same fools who rationalized Holmgren, Fletcher and all the other incompetent bums this franchise has employed.

Now you’ve elevated Frost to 2C. Did Pasta’s hat trick last night close the gap between he and Konecny?

Yep his fault Lundqvist let the goal in. How many Stanley cups have the Ranger since Torts was there?

He was only given one season with Vancouver.

He can only work with the players he is given. What elite talent did have in Columbus.

With your standards only Bowman would be good enough to coach the Flyers.

How many coaches have won more than 1 cup, how many have won one with multiple teams.

You are chasing a dream coach that does not exist.

Hope this means Staal and cam are out for good. Put Coots in, sit ND. Seeler back, for the love of god let the rookies play and sit Johnson, he is a limp biscuit

I heard that Johnson did it all for the nookie.

Next to TK, he has the most talent on the team, and that is why he is held to higher expectations than the pope and the rest of the team.

I think JD said something along those lines.

Ok, not the pope part..lol but he did say the rest of it.

Here we are as well as the media, talking about the Flyers for all the wrong reasons again.

Gauthier doesn’t want to play here
WTF with Johansen who could actually help down the middle
Now the Courturier thing. Not talking about the playoff chances, the win, the Russian goalie who may be coming over soon, or Ginning and Attard, but…

Yet again talking about disgruntled players disappointed with either this team, the coach, or the front office. I thought the Flyers are supposed to be the gold standard.

If it's all on the players then why does he get credit for the turnaround here? Apply the same standard. How many cups the Rangers won after he left is irrelevant to his coaching performance there.

He was only given one season with Vancouver.

Panarin was a top 20 NHL scorer. Atkinson was a 41 goal scorer in the best season he had in Columbus in 18/19. Had a Vezina winning goalie. Columbus had a strong roster and strong depth.

I think you have a reading comprehension issue. I clearly stated that my standard is not wining the cup. That my standing is coaching and developing the team into a legit cup contender. Do I need to point that out to you?
