That's right.
I was going to look it up, but I'm lazy. Didn't we have something like $42,000 in space last year? - Tonybere
It was so bad they had to only play 4 D vs. the Kings so Schneider's salary wouldnt count against the cap for the game so they could acquire Kane. Which, ironically enough, they played a very solid game with only 4 D.

I thought that was debunked as not a real thing that’s allowed and was actually because they didn’t want to risk him getting injured

If you think about it... its kind of ridiculous if thats true. What that implies is they would rather not play Schneider to not risk him getting injured at the expense of the other 4 defenseman.

It’s true. It would make 0 sense if you could save cap space by dressing a player and sitting him on the bench when players who are scratched still count. We were in a bad situation because of trades we made plus injuries
As they should be. Would be awesome but you’ve gotta imagine he goes somewhere that has more room for him - picklerick
We don't have room for a good, young, scoring center? I try to be optimistic, but I think I'll just risk being happy about being wrong if Chytil ever plays again. And, if the kid really turned into something, Troch is a nice 3rd line center to be stuck with.

Has him listed as RW and center so maybe. Someone made a good point that I saw, he may go to a tax free state, ie-Florida. He’s from Massachusetts so possibly the bruins too.

He’s a winger dude and he would have to compete with a lot of players for a roster spot since we have so many penciled in to the starting lineup. Have to imagine there are 31 other teams interested in him

Oh, my bad. I only checked Hockeydb.com and they list him as a center.

It was bc if he got injured they would’ve had to call someone up, putting them over the cap. If I remember correctly.
