In a shocking turn of events, that site is back up and running. So sportsclubstats have the Rangers clinching a spot at 97 points. PlayoffStatus has 99 points. Basically the Rangers have scoop 5 points in 14 games. I say they do it.

5v5 does really matter because the majority of the games are played that way. Take into account that their are about 4 penalties a game, 52 minutes are 5v5.

NHL needs to go back to that. Let the hate of playoff series marinate naturally.

edit: because 1-8 would result in (as of now.):

BOS vs DET, NYR vs PHI, FLA vs TBL, CAR vs TOR. Woud I love those matchups? Yes I would.

We're definitely at risk of being the team most screwed over by the non 1-8 format this year. Even if we beat Tampa, who's to say they don't take a big chunk out of us and it hurts us in the long-run in terms of winning the cup

But that's just goaltending. The Rangers at 5 on 5 are out shot and out chanced when he's on the ice. (His numbers have been better since Roslovic was traded for.)
