Not sure, but I did a little math before the weekend. We were 15 points up from the team chasing the 2nd wildcard with 30 possible points left. We were on pace for 113 points at that time. So, all this to say, I don't know but we're getting close!!!

SportClubStats used to be good, but that website seems to be dead.

Not minimizing any games at all, but they only have 4 games left vs really good teams, the next 3 and then the Avs. After that the rest of the games are vs teams out or on the playoff bubble. No more b2bs. More home vs away games. We’re set up nice to win the metro just got to get it done

In a shocking turn of events, that site is back up and running. So sportsclubstats have the Rangers clinching a spot at 97 points. PlayoffStatus has 99 points. Basically the Rangers have scoop 5 points in 14 games. I say they do it.

Is that all situations? Because his 5 on 5 numbers are not that good.

yep, all situations

I'm completely rebelling against this internet fallacy that only 5 on 5 matters in this sport

That's fine. But the Power play is hard factor in when taking about Selke trophy.

His 5 on 5 numbers are not Selke worthy. Just gotta be honest.

5v5 does really matter because the majority of the games are played that way. Take into account that their are about 4 penalties a game, 52 minutes are 5v5.

NHL needs to go back to that. Let the hate of playoff series marinate naturally.

edit: because 1-8 would result in (as of now.):

BOS vs DET, NYR vs PHI, FLA vs TBL, CAR vs TOR. Woud I love those matchups? Yes I would.

That would be some great hockey.

Im with you Jimbo. While 5 x 5 is the largest PART of all situations. It is still just a part.

All situations = 5 x 5 + Special teams +other

I can't go by last year's Selke winner because it was Patrice Bergeron...

but Nico Hischier was 2nd in Selke voting last year

this year, 5 on 5, Hischier has been on the ice for 39 goals against

Mika has been on the ice for 31 goals against on 5 on 5

ok, so lets spin this negatively some how....

Opps you are right.

The thing is the Rangers are winning even though his 5v5 are down, as long as he finds his way in the playoffs, thats all thats gonna count. We need a deep run, which this team is capable of!!!

We're definitely at risk of being the team most screwed over by the non 1-8 format this year. Even if we beat Tampa, who's to say they don't take a big chunk out of us and it hurts us in the long-run in terms of winning the cup

have you ever owned up to Panarin being a great Rangers FA sign, or are you waiting until after the playoff this year to admit you were wrong?

But that's just goaltending. The Rangers at 5 on 5 are out shot and out chanced when he's on the ice. (His numbers have been better since Roslovic was traded for.)
