When looking at the outcomes/final scores of some of the games the past 3 weeks its hard for me not to think they wouldn't be in the 2nd WC if they didn't have Rust and Jake out the same time, or missing at least one of them a lot of the games. Some games like vs the Oilers I dont think it would have made a difference but the Flames, Kraken, Kings, Sens and Islanders games they very well could have had 2 points or the extra 1.......and that really is how close this playoff race is.....despite the 3rd worst PP in the league...

Hahaha nah I doubt it happens. They will most likely lose tomorrow vs the Rags. Then theres a few in a row they might be able to take but scoring is such an issue then that leads into the Stars then Avs....

I really cant give a firm opinion on that. I really don't know whats for the best. I really dont have a firm grasp on what the the next two drafts and the players available are like. I have no idea what Dubas will do in the summer and how the team will look in October.

If it’s top 10, I keep the pick. I expect the team to be better next season. Dubas as called out the flaws in the roster construction so hopefully he sees the changes that need to happen. They really need to find a RH PP specialist next season. Shocking that this season likely fell due to an inept PP blowing so many games.

You're allowed to be 10% over the cap during the offseason. I think they use the next season's cap for that all summer, but it's rare that teams get close to the 10% max so I'm not completely sure.

Too many unknowns for next season. You can go either way on the thinking maybe next year we fall off a cliff and its a higher pick, maybe we need the pick next year to trade at the deadline if we are in the playoff race and are playing better (and have a successful offseason).
