Barron can't play defensively. He has good individual skills with the puck, but it stops there. I thought he'd be driving the play more in the AHL but it's not the case. One on one battles are a constant struggle - stinger67
oh, well that doesn't sound promising for sure... still, at that age there's time for him to bulk up and change that aspect of his game, wouldn't be impossible if he did. |

it's above the shoulders that he should bulk up.
much much more difficult, and unlikely to happen. |

yes, well to be fair in your world there are a lot of things that seem much more difficult and unlikely to happen... |

Reminds me of that baseball writer a few years ago that said Vlady Jr. needs to show more discipline at the plate…..the dinner plate.
He lost 40lbs that off season.. |

I wonder if Torts was giving directions from a distance, hidden somewhere, just to say "(frank) you, NHL". |

Barron will have to work with Dr Recchi on the mental aspect of his game. He seems very fragile |

Too bad we didn't get Byrom in that Lekky trade instead. I wouldn't be upset to see Barron packaged up with players, picks, or prospects for something significant upfront.

problem is Barron was part of the solution on the right side while the Habs have a surplus on the left side.
i agree he is a risk of being packaged with picks and/or other prospects to get a bigger fish. I say....Necas. |

I'd be fine with it depending on the return, but the potential is there to be selling higher if they're a bit more patient with him imho. - Pat1993
At some point, some of these prospects on D are going to be moved out. Likely starting this summer.
We do not know which one(s), but we each have some favourites and others we see that can be moved because they are not.
I really like Harris. I think he is a solid 5-6 that can play top 4 minutes in a pinch, mostly does the right thing. The kind of guy that really helps teams win, steady.
Also, I really like what he is doing off the ice in the community, too.
A lot of people see Harris as gone for sure, when more players come in.
I'd rather see a guy Baron gone, as he is currently a 1 dimensional player. Maybe that changes, maybe that doesn't, but Harris is more useful right now than Baron.
Yeah, I know, left / right thing, but I just mean players in general.

well in that case the clock isn't ticking, the decision has already been taken lol...
he'll probably be packaged in a trade to get a more interesting return, because currently he probably isn't worth a whole lot by himself, but like I said, at 22 he still has time to work on aspects of his game and get better, so his value could very well be on the rise in a not-so-distant future.
I'm not against trading him, but this "clock is ticking" thing is a bit ridiculous imho. |

Realistically, only the Send likely have a chance to pass the Habs, due to games in hand.
Habs keep getting loser points, not helping. |
