Did you hear whoever the new guy is for the Bills/Sabres on WGR yesterday Parading around how committed Pegula is to the Buffalo Sabres and how much he wants to build a winner.
- ImThatGuy

The thing about Pegula is that I don't doubt he wants to build a winner. He just doesn't know how. The difference between the NHL and the NFL is that the NFL has the power and mechanisms in place to say "the way to be successful is to let the adults handle the things that matter" while the NHL doesn't.

He worked for the Bills before, I think for 9yrs. He was with the Team and had a hand in them moving to St. John Fisher for TC. He's from Rochester

Jesus Christ, can you ever just give a team credit. if the Sabres had signed Patrick Kane you’d be slobbering all over his knob right now after you took a break from doing it for Adams.
- ImThatGuy

I never wanted Kane.

Adams did and went right down to the wire and he picked our rival.

Islanders fans boo Tavares, Sabres get cuckholded by Kane and we are still talking about him.

poops even sadder then Adams crying over Okposo

I doubt that he wants to build a winner. The team hasn't leveraged their cap space at all over the past 3 years. He wants to run a frugal operation and if winning is a byproduct, terrific. If not, yacht season starts early.

He also would fire this whole management group if he wanted to win

I did. He seems likable. I assume he will either have his soul crushed or he will leave within 2 years

Right after Terry extends him of course:

You have become delusional in your fight to stand up for a failed roster/GM.

It is highly entertaining.

Signing Kane was a high risk. Every single ex or current player that got the same surgery he did. Was out of the league within a year or thrown on some sort of IR and were shadows of their formers self.

Not hating on Kane for coming out of it and succeeding. He is a success story for that’s kind of surgery

I am sure a few a month is likely

https://morehockeystats.com/teams/en

wings allowed 12 this season, one of the worst

sabres allowed 11

they also allowed 8 short handed goals

sabres allowed 9

https://www.statmuse.com/...d-goals-allowed-2023-2024

pretty good chance -10 on kane for this season was due to being on the ice when one of those happen

plus/minus is more viable for the suck sisters on the bottom half of the roster vs the difference makers as it throws the numbers off

so kane is probably a ppg player with a plus 5 when you remove pk goals allowed and empty net goals allowed

it's why eichel and reinhart had bad plus minuses when they were on a bad sabres team and better now

did sam reinhart and jack eichel just start playing D in the last 2 oe 3 years?

- homiedclown

Reinhart and P.Kane have nearly identical even strength production per game this season.

Why is Reinahrt a +18 and Kane a -4 ?

It’s a lot more than empty nets.

Kane decided the race to 10th in the East and doing absolutely nothing during a 7 game losing streak was more important then the race to 12th with the Sabres.

Can we move on now ?

No it wasn't, if you did any due diligence on him, you would've understood. Instead you called him washed and argued Olo was the same as Kane.

Then again you are a flailing inflatable tube guy, so the ridiculousness of your thought process checks out.

I mean the wing roster is on par with the panther roster, right

just like our roster was on par with the cup favorite oilers last night

take the L and then move on

or we can continue

Crazy there is thing called analytics which can derive an individual impact on the game ?

Should we take a look or throw out a random “but the empty netters” at the wall and see if it sticks.

I didn’t take the L, but I’m glad to stop losing any more brain cells in this argument

what

you don't think gost, maatta and petry are on par with ekblad, montour and forsling

copp, compher perron on par with tkachuk, verhaeghe, and bennett?

husso and reimer on par with bobrovsky

come on now, get real

the same analytics that weigh a shot from krebs the same as mcdavid or the same analytics that expects comrie to play like hellebuyck?

would Dahlin play better with Devon Toews or Joker?

you act like it is a this or that

it is a this or that when it comes to some things but a team sport with 6 bodies on the ice for each team is different

I guarantee you if krebs had a better wing than robinson, he would have better numbers as that is just common sense which separates most humans from grasshoppers

On second look, Kane’s underlyings are quite good.

He managed to overcome a surgery nobody else has and is playing his best hockey in over 5 years.

I’ll admit I was wrong.

The ironic thing was that despite the skepticism, the l Sabres front office went all in on the guy and he chose Detroit.

So shouldn’t we be upset that Kane said thanks but no thanks ?

Shouldn’t we be booing him ?

What are we doing here lol

Due diligence? Lol. Yeah every single player who had the same surgery didn’t come back at all or remotely the same is still on long term IR and done career wise

Pretty easy and short list to review when there are only 4-5 players that ever got that surgery.

Please name them. Since I didn’t do “diligence”

I have the list fyi

at the end of the day

the gm and owner should have used their cap space to pay more than the wings and land him

if the goal was to make the playoffs

I seriously doubt the serious goal was to make the playoffs and be a cup contender

Not sure I've ever seen a goalie change with 4 minutes left.

Patrick Roy would have gone empty net with 11 minutes to go.
