Well they kinda do when there not on LTIR, don't believe either Quinn or Samuelsson were designated. Don't need the cap space so they still count.
- Buff36

They're paying Samuelsson $4M+ to workout.

What a steal!

disco sucks dan made the team work in practice so a young eichel says I am not signing an extension if he is still the coach

the core loved ralph and his soft practices and my guess is the same with donnie and his soft practices

- homiedclown

Yea ive said it a couple times but mitts noting the differences between a championship organization and the sabres is really concerning

It should be a big time eye opener for tpegs if he is paying any attention at all. Id be furious if it was me

Actually I am furious it just doesn't matter lol

spending wisely is important in a cap era
- homiedclown

Especially when the team is on a budget that is substantially under the cap limit.

Adams and co. thinking it was a shoo-in that Kane would sign with the Sabres is hilarious.

Even more so that they planned it as their big move for the season.

Guy is a -4 on the season despite being a PPG player lol.

He would have helped our PP at least, but then again, probably not with Ellis behind the bench

so the empty net goals scored vs the wings is kane's fault?

What I don't understand is if they're mandated to operate on a team budget that is 80-85% of the cap limit, why wouldn't they full embrace the moneyball philosophy? If they did, poop stains like Erik Johnson would never even be considered, let alone happen. They'd also be targeting players who need more opportunity and would gladly accept the greater role in Buffalo.

Are the Red Wings giving up 3 empty net goals a game then ?

I am sure a few a month is likely

https://morehockeystats.com/teams/en

wings allowed 12 this season, one of the worst

sabres allowed 11

they also allowed 8 short handed goals

sabres allowed 9

https://www.statmuse.com/...d-goals-allowed-2023-2024

pretty good chance -10 on kane for this season was due to being on the ice when one of those happen

plus/minus is more viable for the suck sisters on the bottom half of the roster vs the difference makers as it throws the numbers off

so kane is probably a ppg player with a plus 5 when you remove pk goals allowed and empty net goals allowed

it's why eichel and reinhart had bad plus minuses when they were on a bad sabres team and better now

did sam reinhart and jack eichel just start playing D in the last 2 oe 3 years?

I admit I was on the wrong side of this. Uncertainty was warranted due to the type of surgery and track record of players who had it

I still question the possibility of him signing. Was he really coming here or using the sabres as leverage? Did he really want the weight of 13 years placed solely on his shoulders? My guess is no. And he got to go play for another original 6 franchise

- ieetbred

Never know, but I had a feeling he wasn't signing. He wants to win, Detroit was the best team at the time to offer him more than vet min.

I actually know him pretty well, we played at Bud Bakewell for a while. I think he's exactly the guy who would love to be linked to ending our drought, he doesn't hate Buffalo as some suggest.

I just don't think he saw it happening, given how we started the year, I get his reticence. Looking back now, him over Olo or Okposo might have been the difference, tough to tell.

The worst part is knowing that no one will be held accountable for another poopty season and the GM will not make meaningful changes to this roster.

Same coach, new 4th line center, new Bryson

Lets not be stupid. Samuelsson is on the LTIR. We are talking about Samuelsson.

Can't see the context?

- sabresfan69

If you’re gonna be a pompous bumhole, you better make sure you’re right. the Sabres have used zero dollars of LTIR space.

Jesus Christ, can you ever just give a team credit. if the Sabres had signed Patrick Kane you’d be slobbering all over his knob right now after you took a break from doing it for Adams.

I did. He seems likable. I assume he will either have his soul crushed or he will leave within 2 years

He worked for the Bills before, I think for 9yrs. He was with the Team and had a hand in them moving to St. John Fisher for TC. He's from Rochester
