Mr I bought the Sabres to win a cup, right
- lulags

The losing broke Terry's ego, his attempt to burn money (the wrong way) to win is going to go down as the worst stretch of hockey in the history of the game.

The future looks bleak, isn't this coach and GM signed until 2027?

They continue to operate at 80-85% of the cap limit.

Just another example of them not being a serious organization.

- kingcong39

Cry more.

Samuelsson is 24 years old entering his prime getting paid 4m

Clifton is getting paid 3.3m and is trash. Samuelsson has the potential to be a top 4 defender.

Oh thats right, you think injured players count against the cap.

Agreed, instead we will hear how this team is close and needs a retooling...after failing to upgrade via trade, Adams will upsell the prospects abilities and promote them.

Costs remain low, the boss's of the Sabreworld will invest their money into the idea rookies are the solution...try again after the 14th season of missed playoffs.

The vets are what lost us our chance this year though. When is it time to see what Kulich, Rosen, Savoie, RyJo, Ostlund and Levi can do in a full year? If we're going to be cheap, why not let them grow instead of paying guys we know suck? I mean, EJ, Comrie and Okposo were all known commodities and should never have gotten a nod from us.

And who’s going to step in and fire them? Not Terry. He will continue to focus on the Bills and let this team sink under Adams and Meatballs.

Samuelsson is not a good contract. Neither is Clifton.

Is your argument that because Clifton‘s contract is bad that makes Samuelson‘s contract good?

That’s called a rebuild. If that’s the plan, we will miss the playoffs for 10 more years

The Sabres picking 8th

A tradition unlike any other

- Hank Balling

This team will get to 6th!
That is going to be some attractive trade bait.
Of course, Kevy will miss that signal as well.

We will draft another undersized winger and call it the steal of the draft

We needed these 2 losses to real teams. Now we can get to work building a real team.

Core

Tuch, Cozens, JJ, Dahlin, Power, Byram,UPL

Rest should be considered in any good trade offer

- lulags

Agreed... Lots of trade capital to overhaul the roster.
That means poop if the FO isn't overhauled before hand... Since that won't happen, be prepared to draft a 5'10" F. The table is set.

Well they kinda do when there not on LTIR, don't believe either Quinn or Samuelsson were designated. Don't need the cap space so they still count.

Under Adams, the NHL team is designed to operate this way.

@Ben_Mathewson
The Sabres are the most unserious franchise in sports. A literal joke top to bottom. Such a joke that it's basically a meme for most other NHL fans to tongue in cheek cheer for the adorable little Sabres who are trying their darnedest to compete with real teams.

Potentially lost in continually setting the NHL record for playoff misses, the sabres are just 4 years from tying the bills drought

4 years ago they missed a bullpoop playoff bubble by 1 point. Think about how fast that time has gone by

Lets not be stupid. Samuelsson is on the LTIR. We are talking about Samuelsson.

Can't see the context?

- Sabretooth9

it's not a playoff team

I hope they drop every game

I called an 82 point season and got mocked by many, including you

.500 team now?

that's an 82 point pace, right?

this team will always suck with this coach, probably this gm and probably this owner

I have no idea how these contracts work. Any chance there is a date when the extension kicks in and they could be let go before that date without having to pay for the two extra years? I assume no and I'm just dreaming.

typical game the sabres need to win, and they are a no show
hang their goalie out to dry

it's like they quit after 30 minutes and decided to take the easy way out

I hope they don't think a healthy quinn, 1 rookie grabbing the third line center, a healthy samuelsson and a focused levi is all they need

they have no chemistry

spending wisely is important in a cap era

adams had next to no control on the skinner contract but

he let ulmark walk by 1 year deals
let reinhart bail due to lack of a long term deal

massive overpay for bryson, olofsson, okposo, girgens

signed clifton for way too much money on a 3 year deal
signed erik johnson for way too much money

bring back jost on a bad contract

claim robinson on a bad contract

trade for a bad player in stillman to spend over 1 mil on him and bury him in the minors

pay a goalie 1.8 mil for 2 years on a guy that does not belong in the nhl

I would rather have 2 impact guys making bank than these 6-8 blah multi millionaires on this roster
