They are 17-12-1 since January. 96 point pace.

Do they crumble when the going gets tough?

Or do they dig themselves too large of a hole and fall victim to the slim margin of error they give themselves ?

I think it’s the latter.

- Swedish_Jesus

How much faith do you have that this time they have definitely, actually learned their lesson and they will start next year with two winning months in a row?

Agreed, that's why I brought him up. Decent 4th liner who can win draws and give you 25-30pts and is Decent Defensively. Everything we talk about here seems to have been brought up repeatedly. On a F@cking Train going in Circles.
- Buff36

Blueger's expected next contracts is 2 years at $2.5M per.

Should the Sabres be paying that for a 4th line Center?

Is this a down year? or was last year a peak and it's time to move on?

Cozens + Benson + Quinn/Greenway gives them a go to defensive line and it's working. I see Cozens + Benson staying together. It's their best line right now. With Quinn, it could be their #1 next year.

Alternative, Quinn with Tage + Tuch makes that a much better two way line.

It doesn't seem like Donnie likes Krebs very much and seeing him minimize Skinner and JJ really makes you question things.

- Lunaion

If management's plan for next season is based on anything other then the Tage line having last season be its peak, they're in big trouble for next season.

They cannot plan for the 22-23 season to ever happen again.

You were killing Krebs a minute ago. He was the key part of the return.

That trade has not aged well.

- Lunaion

Didn't they use the Vegas 2nd round pick to get Greenway?

Krebs blows, tuch is a very good nhl hockey player

Eichel not durable and traded while injured

- Boss34

Also, Eichel was in the top 2 voting for playoff MVP last season on a cup winning team.

Yes, plus a pick. I'm not in to trade trees. They would have worked out a Greenway deal either way. Moving up 13 picks wasn't that significant.

Sabres are better than Detroit, Isles, and the Caps.

They have nobody to blame but themselves if they miss the playoffs.

- Swedish_Jesus

Imagine going from “I predicted they would go on a run and everyone attacked me.”

To

“They have no one to blame but themselves if they miss”

In the span of 4 days and just so when you inevitably move the goalposts again in an argument that lost its point months ago, you can somehow still pat yourself on the back and tell us all you called it and none of us listened.

This is a very poor way to say they sucked the first half of this season, when this group had pressure on them to perform.

It also ignores the coach and captain (who got traded away to go try to win knowing they would fail) publicly saying this seasons plan to win was thrown out due to failure.

After they decided the season was a wash, their team performance started to improve...the moment pressure was applied again, they folded.

Call it correctly, your spins lately are stretching farther from the truth each day.

Eichel is a female dog and Cap Circumvention should have been the MVP of that final. Everyone knows they bought a Cup. Is what it is.

Risto. Hasn't amounted to anything yet, but miles better than extending him.

I think this summer they need to bring in a captain from outside of the organization to hold the rest of the team accountable. I don't have faith in any of these players to be the leader they need when the going gets tough

Even if both Wings and Bolts go .500.

Sabres need to go 10-4 to get in.

Tuch is good , put up almost a point per game last season

Eichel has been hurt, they probably have the same amount of points since the trade

- Boss34

Sabres are in the same spot they were before the trade. All they have done since is waste 3 years of a sweet contract for Tuch.
