Both sites I use for this stuff give the Devils a better chance because of that.

The Devils don’t really have any business being where they are in the standings to begin with.

It’s 2021-2022 all over again for them getting sunk by the worst goaltending imaginable.

Sabres are better than Detroit, Isles, and the Caps.

They have nobody to blame but themselves if they miss the playoffs.

14 games left
@ seattle
@ nucks
@ oilers
@ flames
leafs
caps
flyers
@wings
@ stars
caps
@ panthers
@ bolts

that is 12 of the 14 games left

4 of the games are back to backs

even with 6k playing at top 10 goalie level, I do not see 24 points in these 14 games

As well he played, Sabres have an .898 SV%. League average is .899.

how much of this falls on the gm, head coach and team goalie coach?

I'd say it falls on him, he was Jekyll and Hyde just through his first 5 games, his first 20 don't look a hell of a lot different:

It's really the back half where he rounds into form, sure there are a few stinkers, but that happens to the best of them. He's only had 5 games under .900 in the last 23 and only 1 really bad game where he allowed 4 goals on 14 shots to Anaheim

He didn't even start his 1st game until almost 2 weeks into the Season. They definitely didn't help him

It's a fact that as soon as the fearless leader left for Florida the this team actually believes they can make the playoffs this year. I believe.

So how does a Budget Team we shall call it "MoneyPuck" not fully go into analytics and use it to try and Benefit your Team. Sabres use about 80% of there Cap most years, they don't use it as a Weapon. Which is kinda stupid IMO especially if you are building a Team full of Draft Picks. They don't use analytics on the Ice in most cases, especially with the combinations they put together. Seems we don't have a very officiant Upper Management Group that is very much hindering the on Ice product.

I am not lumping you into this, but the mass that said 6k cost us sooo much last year and the start of this year

it's a bad team and he was the one with the winning record

grant fuhr had terrible stats with the oilers, but he won

at what point, does winning not matter?

GM for a horrible offseason and a Coach that seems to have gone as far as he can. Atleast with what he chooses to utilize on the ice.

Sabres need to Win Hockey Games, the way the Islanders Washington and Detroit are playing at this point. They are getting the help they need right know. Go Win Hockey Games and they make the playoffs, keep fluffing your way through the schedule and you Won't.

He's just like the rest of the team, when the pressure is off, he plays much better. When there's anything at stake, it goes back to this:

The GM knowing the plan was to focus on defense, did nothing to take into account the regression from the 1st line, they got worse offensively and defensively:

22/23 / 23/24

Skinner: 1.03ppg +15 / .70ppg -1

Tage: 1.20ppg +4 / .68ppg -11

Tuch 1.06ppg +14 / .68ppg -1

Will Tage even get to 50 points this season?

The struggle is real for him, how will he be able to focus on hockey?

"It's so many little things," Okposo told ESPN. "Like, what do you wear on the plane here? Do you wear ties? Where do you sit on the bus?

also:

"I put absolutely everything that I had into Buffalo and into the city, the team, the organization," he said. "I gave everything I had and I hope that the guys there can take some things that I hopefully taught them and apply it to the future.

what a self own

Pittsburgh tucked in 6 against Detroit last night. The wings goaltending fell off a cliff and the Sabres could on score once on a weak shot from Tage.

The image above perfectly encapsulates the Sabres organization

Imagine trying for a playoff spot and guys like EJ are getting fed minutes because the GM chose to sign a below replacement level player.

That has to take the wind out of sails. Especially when you see EJ crawling around on the ice, along the boards, trying to swipe at the puck with his glove while the other team pounces on it.

Watching Okposo and EJ was like watching the coach's kid struggle to keep up on a team they never should've made. Borderline pathetic, almost feel sorry for them (almost).
