There's a reason why stealing $10 is larceny and $1000 is grand larceny. They're committing the latter. Also, it's not really a loophole so much as a good cheating tactic. It's no different than the Astros stealing signs, to me.
And I want our first Cup to be legitimate. Not even trying to be dramatic, but I would lose interest quickly if after all this losing we decided to cheat and win. - QuinnFan

Except she wasn't POHO
Was Ted Black POHO?

Show me where it says he had anything to do with what players to sign or who to trade.
You guys are conflating two totally different jobs just because they sound alike. - Wetbandit1

Ted Black was "just" President (not POHO) and he was accountable for all things Sabres related from arena experience, to on-ice performance. He actually gave out his email address and listened to the fans.
Sure, the team sucked with him at the helm, but there was a level of accountability.
President Terry would never make himself available to the press or the fans. But hey, we're getting an "NHL flagship event" next year - playing overseas. Thanks, President Terry |

The hierarchy is
Owner
CEO
President
President of Hockey Operations
Theoretically, Terry holds all those positions and isn't very good at the POHO position . |

He also doesn't weaponize the cap as a team that has only spent 85% of the limit on average over the past three years. He's subpar at all 4 levels |

You see Terry as having actual hockey responsibilities and not just an honorary pres, with no actual responsibilities?

Just a random thought rattling around in my brain, today.
So much turmoil was brought to Sabres HQ with KP being President: problems with running a sports team like a traditional family business - Lifestyle versus Success at Hockey; someone riding the hobby horse with someone else and it making major noise (who tf cares?!?!?); bad personalities poisoning the troops; and lastly, non-cohesive hockey thoughts - have/had created so much noise that it has been impossible to be a success.
There is jealousy surrounding the VGK organization and their success but you don't hear about anything from their camp but their hockey team making moves to create a winning hockey atmosphere. Same with Tampa. Same with many other successful hockey teams.
Then, we look at the Sabres that ALLOWED an unqualified, unmitigated disaster to dictate terms of operations. It has only been a year since Kim's illness (which, before anyone jumps on this as a harsh comment, I have empathy for her and her continue quality of life) I wonder if all of the previous negativity that she wrought has had time to correct itself? Has all the negativity from One SHK III Plaza been healed?
So many companies lose for years to come because they took on the aura of a failed leader.
A President of Hockey Operations with the right pedigree would do wonders for setting the correct course. - TC4145
Who was the using the hobby horse? |

Look, the Pegulas suck, but we should at least be clear about who was in charge; and that's Terry. |

If they win, it's legitimate, regardless of how much it costs against the cap.
A large part of professional sports is about gamesmanship; how much you can get away with, and how far over the line you can go.
I don't like it either, but it's the reality of professional sports.
The Sabres should embrace it, if they had any interest in being a real team. |

If a player is legitimately injured, yes.
In the example provided Kucherov was practicing with the team a month before the season ended, showed up for game 1 in the playoffs and went on a heater.
Mark Stone magically shows up for Game 1 and looked like there was no rust at all.
Call me skeptical I guess |

Interesting. Didn’t he leave because Pegula kept overruling his decisions? Maybe about whether to trade Ryan Miller? Re-tool vs Tank? Or was that just hearsay? |
