Buffalo must have way more Canadians than they Oilers...eh?

PS: by the way, of the past six Cup Champions, only two teams, Vegas & St. Louis, had more Canadians than not. Everyone else had more NON-Canadians.

- Pacificgem

Tampa had 11 Canadians and 12 Canadians, during their 2 Cups, Colorado had 12 or 13.

McDavid with a goal and an assist in the first two periods today is now only nine points behind MacKinnon, with four games in hand, (frank)er is gonna catch him and win the Art Ross and Hart again.

Thanks Yorkers.

Anyone know if the Oilers passed us in the standings yet?

Asking for a friend that likes to talk out of his ass lots.....and is too chicken shit to back it up with an avi bet.

Lord Micro Penis likes to push his narrative around here. He’ll never bet.

Not if they keep riding him as hard as they are. Especially with a heavy schedule. He's gonna get injured first.

I hate the Oilers but he’s an amazing player. He’s also averaging a minute and a half less ice time than Mac this year, but you’re right, they’ll ride him hard to the playoffs.

That's insane considering the lousy first 2 months he and the Oilers had.

2 fights so far in the Nashville vs Minnesota game.
I'm not sure of the nationalities of the participants but the body language was intense.

I guarantee you it wasn't Forsberg/Nyquist from Nashville, nor Brodin/Erickson-Ek from Wild

He was born in Buffalo, so he’s American.

Yes, he’s 100% Canadian. Just because he got mad at how Canada treated his dad and decided to play for the USA doesn’t mean he isn’t Canadian. He was born and predominantly raised in Canada.

Are you one of those guys who says if you “identify” a certain way then it must be so?

It was his 5th start in 12 days, that's hardly a heavy workload.
- golfingsince

He’s never been overworked. The typical starting goalie plays roughly 50 to 60 games a season. Demko has only hit that number once in his career (64 in 2021-22). His next highest total in a full season is 35. This season he’s at 49.

This idea he gets overworked is a fallacy. Usually injuries (or a lockout shortened season) are the cause of his reduced number of games played.

He also had a couple of extended breaks this season. A 1 in 8, and then a 9 day off.

Is it really “falling”. Just talking hockey. Injuries are a part of hockey. He’s the most important player on this team. His absence is worth a few sentences.

Or would you rather talk American greatness and redhead craziness?

Exactly. He’s a starter. I think they have managed his playing time really well.

Just looking at Luongo’s numbers and he had five seasons in a row playing 65+ games. Four of those seasons he played over 70 games. One season he played 76 games (75 started). That’s (frank)ing nuts.

It’s BS to say Demko’s overplayed.
