I don't think DeSmith will steal you any games, so I think it comes down to how they play in front of him. Play well and have a chance at winning. Play poorly and they will lose.

It’s not being very good doesn’t make Myers good. He also plays against the top lines all game every game, unlike Myers. Myers is good at number 4, he being deployed much better than in other years. Tocchet deserves credit for that, managing his minutes and opponents as important.

I see it this way. If Demko needs a rest and heal time, now is best. Schedule is light, and let's face it, you need to get DeSmith into some games down the stretch just in case he's needed in the playoffs. The work is good to get him into some sort of rhythm.
