$250K for Kraft hockeyville doesn't seem like nearly enough. The NHLPA should match.

He has a point.

How do you reduce a 30 minute Dman to a 25 minute Dman?

Dump the puck in and play the body. There are guys that have made a career out of evading hits, such as the guy who probably still holds more than half the scoring records.

However, for most guys it ends up taking a toll over a long series.

- golfingsince

Exactly 👍🏻 perhaps it’s been so long since we have been in the playoffs people forget what it takes to win

There’s a lot of teams that have won without that strategy, is what I would say to that. It is effective, so is possession and puck pressure. I wouldnt describe any of the teams that have won the last 5 cups as teams that ground down the opposing teams d.

We'll see.

Hopefully the Canucks have a couple of short series wins to keep their 180 lb Dman fresh.

Abby came to play today 5-0.

Not much consistency down there, that's for sure.

Pfft, just get rid of them if they are that bad, same as Canucks players 5'113/4" and under, useless players for any playoff run regardless of leading the league of dmen,

Fans of anything Canucks are the most negative, fickle drama queens I've ever witnessed, always complaining about anything, and if you (not royal you) don't have something then let's just fabricate it.

You've got that one down pat.

29 wins in 56 games.

They may miss the playoffs.

I look at the Canucks and I see a team that can make a deep playoff run or bow out in the 1st round.

They for the time being have home ice advantage. That's pretty much all you can ask for.

Criticizing how they're built for the playoffs is just that, criticism. There's more than 1 way to skin a cat.

The way the team is currently constructed, there should be a few more chances to advance in the playoffs which is all you can really ask for.

No you've got that more than down pat, 29 wins in 56 game 5 points from 2nd in their division, 5 points from 3rd in their conference, 6 points from 6th in the AHL league, the parity in the AHL is really strong.

But it sounds so much better to paint the team as a stand alone poopty team.

You took "not much consistency" and turned it into "a stand alone poopty team" and whined about how everything is so negative.

As I said you are exactly what you were complaining about.

@hall1289

Tom Willander picked up two primary assists today, putting him up to 21 points (4G, 17A). That sits third among U19 NCAA defenders.

He's also a plus-24 now, which is the third highest among all defenders in the nation. #Canucks

So Makita doesn't cry anymore.

Willander played hockey today.

WHL:
- Sawyer Mynio picked up two goals and an assist last night with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

NCAA:
- Aku Koskenvuo had a 38-save shutout for Harvard last night.

More players that played hockey.

Only a fool would think your nationality makes any difference in 2024 when it comes to success, years ago, sure, the league was primarily made up of Canadians and the Cup meant more to them. But those days are over.

You simply need size, speed/skill and depth in the playoffs now, regardless of where it comes from. In 2024 only just over 40% of NHL players are Canadians, in the 70's it was 96%, the 80's was 82%, the 90's around 74%, today it's 41%.

- DraftandDestroy

But Vegas wins the cup last year with 16 (or more lol) Canadians...

Keep going...
