Ponomarev has two games played with Carolina this year. A goal and an assist against Washington. He may be our top prospect. I don't know the rules but I would have him practice with the big squad before I designate him to WBS.

Side note, this doesn't look good for Poulin.

Crosby to the Avs. Lets just do it and get this over with.

He sounded like he was crushed yesterday and he has been playing like it since they got the mandate that they are stripping it down. Let the guy go compete. He isnt a fantasy hero that only cares about the point total like some players.... the guy just wants to win and it seems obvious that he realizes that isnt happening here.

I dont say this lightly as I have really been wanting them to turn this thing around for next season but I dont think Dubas is the guy that is going to do it.

I just looked at Kunitz stats...the years the Pens won the back to backs he only had 40 points in 81 games 2015/2016 and 29 points in 71 games in 2016/2017. I was thinking he was much more of a production force those years. In 2014/2015 he only had 40 points in 74 games. It was the 3 or 4 seasons before 2014/2015 that his production was really good.

Poulin is never making the show lol his knock will always be on his skating, which is hilarious that we acquired 2 prospects with poor skating.

This is (maybe) going to be my last gripe about this trade but here is what is burning me more than anything right now....

Waddell is getting a PPG regular season and playoff performer at the deadline for a salary dump, a 2nd rounder and 3 parts bin prospects....

AND HE HAS THE NERVE TO CONDITION A 5TH ROUND PICK ON CAROLINA WINNING THE CUP!~!~!~!!!!!!

If that isnt the ultimate F*CK YOU to Dubas, I don't know what is. The second that was proposed he should have walked away from the deal. That is the most insulting condition on a trade I have ever seen.

I am hoping we get the Flyers 2nd rounder and not the Carolina 1st, hope they lose in the first round.

- MacPatty

Can't argue with the part about the conditional 5th.

Still rooting for them though, because in the Metro it's either them, NYR, or PHI, then if they get past the Metro it's probably BOS, FLA, or TOR.

I'd love to see a final with CAR and either COL or EDM.

I think for me, that if you put this trade aside, the frustrating thing is that everyone said that when our core got to the mid-to-late 30s, they'd drop off and be anchors on the team... we've had 3 different GMs in the last few years and all 3 failed to give this group another chance at a run. Obviously Rutherford is less involved because he left, but he handcuffed this team with a lot of trades that didnt work out. That can be true while still giving him credit for building a hell of a Stanley Cup winner.

Hextall largely wasted the last few years of this group. Dubas came in with a tough job, but he's made a lot of missteps. As I've joked, Hextall damaged this organization more than any Flyer ever could.

DK really raked him over the coals this morning lol. You really have to wonder if his indecisiveness played a large role in this return. All we heard this season was he's still evaluating things. We'll never know.

My only hope is that there was a handshake deal that he signs back in the offseason.

The national media is doing major damage control for Dubas, surprisingly.

Can we steal whomever does the drafting in Dallas? It seems they hit late every year now.

Crosby to the Rangers for Kakko and their 1st...will even make it an unconditional first

Kypreos did the other day too. Said:

Dubas screwed the Leafs cap situation with the Tavares signing - agreed.

Kadri trade - made a poor decision moving on from a 2C at a $4.5M cap hit. Poor talent evaluation thinking that Barrie and Kerfoot were better than they are. - really bad.

Traded a 1st and 2 4ths for Foligno - terrible.

Let Hyman walk over a $5M contract - terrible.

Brought in Murray - extra terrible because it shows he has guys that he likes and he will ignore what the player actual is because of this bias.

Hell no. I would never trade him within the division. It was hard enough watching Jagr play for the Caps, Rangers, Flyers and Devils lol. The only team I could accept would be the Avs to play with MacKinnon.

Well what I thought was a bad return for Jake yesterday is suddenly feeling like a good value for Crosby with Dubas calling the shots.

I'm surprised it is so quite. I was hoping for Smith to be moved out quickly since there were tons of media talking about all the interest in him.

I want it to stay down, let's get the best pick we can. It's actually harder to watch this team suck compared to the Rico Fata years because we have actual good players. Sully needs to go. Our pp ultimately sunk us this year.

Yeah I agree. I do believe however if Jake and Rust dont go down they are within a few points of a playoff position today with games in hand....

Yea but the team just isn't clicking, we would get smoked in round one. I really wanna see Smith, Graves and to an extent Jarry go today. But definitely Smith and Graves.

Jarry has played like a #1 this season for the most part. I dont want to get rid of him. Smith I could see going for a pick like what the Pens paid for him. Graves will be hard to rid of. Few us think maybe somewhere like Zona who need to get to the cap floor this offseason. Long shot Graves isnt on the books in October IMO.

For the last bit it'd be great to have Geno with Sid and Bunting and to actually assess some other younger talent in roles that old balls are currently occupying.

I don't have a lot of hope for this though, in fact Sully will probably find a way to make us more offensively inept.
