Really thought Smith and Ned would be gone by now. Kind of hope we offer Ned a contract for a couple of years. Smith might be easier to move at the draft. |

Pens should have brought back Zucker for that price. Throw the team a bone. Or, tank is probably a better option. |

If we were in it I thought he'd be a guy we would have brought back. |

Jake Allen just went for a conditional 3rd that can be a 2nd even though he has a year left next year. I thought having term was the antichrist? Weird |

Do the Pens have to decide before of the draft if they're keeping their pick if it falls below #10?
Like if they were wanting to see if certain players slipped in the draft they could hold it? If not they give it up on the fly? - Thorny87
Do the Penguins actually get to decide? I was under the impression that for stipulations like this one, it was simply if the pick is in the top 10, it stays with Pittsburgh and if it 's 11+ it goes to SJ.

Pretty sure it's the Pens discretion.

I was told that people *dont* get traded with term and that’s why Eller and smith won’t be traded. Let alone a sub .900 goalie. So wtf would ned get us? |

Habs retained on Allen FYI |

And I'll be honest -getting a 4th round pick for Ruh is really good value by the Penguins. |

I am pretty disappointed in Dubas at this deadline. Some many players needed to be moved and yet only 2 moved. I figured Smith would have been a definite Ned as well with such a high demand for Goalies. |

Still time left on the clock, but it's been a relatively quiet TDL day.

Prices so low that Dubas abruptly changes course and becomes a late buyer and goes all in on this year? - RoloTahmasee

Dubas went on vacation after the Guentz trade, he has Hextall filling in working the phones. |

After spending some time reading about different prospects we were linked to, i started reading about the 2024 draft. Seems to be a very top heavy draft, especially in the 1-7 range and very good options 1-13. After that the level dips down pretty good.
I think the Penguins really need to think about how to handle these next few weeks. Im not saying "tank" because it isnt that simple. But does there come a point where you shut down Crosby/Malkin/Letang/Karlsson? Not so much to tank but more to preserve their bodies physically at their age? I doubt Crosby would be willing to, but i think its something to consider. If we are going to have our pick this year, I want to have a shot at a top 5-7 pick. |

Dubas should try to get the angry mob of Yinzers back on his side by trading for Zegras |

I think we got a good deal on Jake.
I think his value hinges on who his C is. Jake is talented but Sid made Jake what he is. There is no telling how he is going to do in CAR with a different center. - chimpira
Canes are going to find out if he was a product of quality of teammate and utilization. IMO, which ever team ends up giving J his next contract could be over paying on past success. |

That’s true because he’s 30, not because he’s overrated. You don’t become a top 5 goal scorer in the league just because you play with Sid |

Mark Madden and his gang of idiots would be so mad if they got Zegras, I'm all for it.
