Pending trading call, Evgeni Kuznetsov is being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes for a 2025 third-round pick.
Washington is retaining 50 percent on Kuznetsov (one more year next season at a $7.8 M AAV)

I understand that GMs are holding teams up for a kings ransom, but I would rather Chris pass than mortgage the future. Realistically are the rangers 1 player away? Anything can happen but I’m not very confident it will.

but I never believed for one smidge of a second the Rangers wanted Kuznetsov at 3.9 mil next year on the books

Shaping up to be a Patches/Zucker kind of day, barring a massive change

Keller, Tuch, Vatrano, Buch, Toffoli.

Getting the likes of Pacioretty or Zucker doesn't help them.

I really hope we dont make a trade for the sake of it. At worst, if we stand pat, I'm sure Wennberg is capable of playing 1RW with his fellow Swede.

Then we have a choice for 3C and 4C of: Jbrod, Rempe, Goodrow - not great but it has gotten us here so far.

I'm kinda here as well. I don't miss the 2000's dark ages Rangers which was a byproduct of the 90's spending spree.

Its easier for a C to transition to wing, and as I said, hes a lefty so playing RW wouldnt be an issue for him. But whatever.
