Except with about 6 Concussions to go along with it!
High Risk High Reward move!

- Buff36

Yeah, I didn’t know the 6 concussions part. But all I know is that mitts making 7+ mill on the 3rd line doesnt do the Sabres any good.

Savoie
Oslund
2nd round swedish guy
Kulich
Rosen

Those guys are coming. Only so much cap space and roster spots.

2 other things:

1). Adams chose Cozens over mitts when he gave cozens the extension.
2) Adams also showing he rather keep a cheaper Quinn and Peterka long term

Not happy with the Bills losing Bates. O line was Ultra Healthy last year. This year nobody will be able to stay healthy and OLine will be the downfall or reason they lose to the Chiefs in the playoffs.

I like it. I’m not even mad.

Byrum is 21 or 22. It’s not like he’s a 28 year old bust.

He’s going through it like power is right now.

Ive seen a couple different posts similar to this

Why is it justified to add a young player still finding his way to a team of young players finding their way in year 13 of a playoff drought?

Again I do not hate this move but man its strange people complain about them using age as an excuse then applaud getting younger, and when they insert rookies next year it will be more younger

Agreed with the sentiment.

Only thing, Wahlberg, the 2nd round Swedish guy, is a long way off if he ever makes the show.

rip the bandaid off like Broncos did. cut Diggs and Miller. Bills need to go GreenBay route with young buck wr's. Wonder if Bills could trade 1st round pick to Washington for their 2 2nd rounders. Draft chart shows advantage Bills, but it is a 1st round that gives the 5 year option. Would allow them to draft 2 young buck wr's and still get a d lineman or whatever else with their own 2nd.

I would love to take our lumps this year and get rid of bad hits, and be able to make a run at some big guys next year

It's easier to say "rip the bandaid off" for a team like Denver that doesn't have key players in place. Denver can do it because they didn't have a quarterback, and the difference between their record with and without Wilson is minimal and also not good. The Bills can't afford to do that with one of the best quarterbacks in football in his prime.

What do you think Byrams next contract will be after next year. If he plays good and stays Healthy. His QO is 4.6mill I believe.

The way most of the dynasty teams like the kings hawks bruins all had players come up together or even the Sabres in the 2000s.

They were all the same age. Came up together and had success.

Adams trying to replicate that

Ideally you want to build a team that contends for the cup around a core group of similar aged players .

Making the playoffs would be great, mitts didnt bring us there.

Trading for a player with upside , has some appeal .
Like you’re getting a deal …… on sale because he hasn’t peaked yet?

This team has very little in common with those teams

Coaching alone is a huge problem here, and that's before you get to the makeup of the roster

Tampa struggled for awhile with stamkos and hedman. It took them a few years to figure it out.

I agree the coach is the major major problem. I wanted granato gone in November

You got what I was saying

Don’t you think this team won’t peak until power is a great nhl defender?

You can’t rush these young defenders to be good at defense. It takes time

Remember when the NFL salary cap wasn’t real lol.

Or so I’ve been told

- Swedish_Jesus

Still not real.

The bills could’ve restructured nearly every single person that they’ve cut so far and still saved money. There was a whole post several weeks ago about how they could open up $100 million without cutting anyone.

They are cutting the older players, because they are no longer worth their cap due to injury and the like.

I’m going to assume that the bills will still sign a big name UFA.

I read about three with the last being in November of 2021. I am not dismissing the possibility but doesn't every player on the ice have that chance, every shift?

Well if they are going to wait untill cozens tage and dahlin are 3 or 4 more years into their deals to go for it then sure.

Its not just the core its the whole damn team thats too young. Its a built in excuse. Adams has work to do and its not inserting more rookies
