Will anyone even comment on Adams not being able to move:

Comrie/Olo/Jost/Bryson?

Terry's signing and Adams roster construction will result in the Sabres losing Skunk and Mitts while paying Skinner $9mm - wildly pathetic

The excuse 4 years into a top5 GM's rebuild, a retooling is required due to quality players continuing to avoid Buffalo like the plague.

Name any GM in history that has 7-10 mil of dead weight moves living in the minors and keeps his job?

The Washington Capitals have re-signed defenseman Rasmus Sandin to a five-year contract extension. Sandin’s contract will carry an average annual value of $4.6 million.

Erik Johnson, D, Sabres

Teams love a veteran presence with championship experience. Coming from a former captain who is a rugged right-shot defenseman? Sounds too good to be true.

With Erik Johnson, it just might be, given how this season has gone for him. Johnson faces some of the softest competition in the league and still the Buffalo Sabres have given up 0.36 more expected goals against per 60 and 0.83 goals against per 60 with him on the ice. That’s unfathomably bad given how sheltered his usage has been.

With not a single assist to his name all season, Johnson’s value depends on lockdown defense. That’s always been the case for him, but at 35, it feels like the game has passed him by this season — a decline that really started to manifest last year.

Johnson takes on a huge burden getting the puck out (without control) and it’s possible that easing that burden can allow him to focus on what little he can do best without the puck. As long as that’s in a very sheltered role, he might be passable enough for his intangible element to be worthwhile. If the price is low enough it’s not the end of the world.

Still, it does feel like there are better avenues to improve defensive depth than with Johnson, whose play has left a lot to be desired this season — with and without the puck.

So your idea is to pay upwards a 1st+ (because that’s what’s it will cost for Skinner to be gone.) to deal Skinner’s bad contract and you follow that up bringing in another bad contract?

Resigning Mittelstadt would be the wrong way to go. He’s not worth what he will get. Best to trade him in the summer. Krebs can do what he does.

Trading him for a top 4 right handed defensive defenseman would be the best coarse of action.

- Jammerz04

Right because we've definitely seen this.

Good lord Peyton Krebs is now becoming the most over rated Sabre I've ever seen.

His goals above replacement is similar to Bryson's.

What Adams wants to do and what other GM's and agents allow him are 2 separate issues.

Adams 4 years in, continues to fail at a high rate in multiple areas as a GM/leader. His wants are still unclear to anyone outside that building, other than his desire to draft and develop (which is a bubble that should burst in the next 8 months, opening another can of worms).

He is sitting on his hands because the league knows the position he is in and have no reason to give him an inch. He destroyed his leverage years ago. He will have to get aggressive and assume higher risk than what he has shown, I have no faith in even moving Girgs by the deadline.

Adams will say, he respects these vets and wants them to play on their terms, its a + because it allows Rochester to remain competitive which is good for development, and fans remain in the twilight zone.

How so? Teams are always trying to get players. Why would our good players garner lesser interest or offers from something he's done?

Still want either one...?

@frank_seravalli This not much of a shock. Considering playoffs are realistic for the Flyers while still looking at their original long term plan, it would make sense to go long term with one player, while getting assets for the other. #LetsGoFlyers #NHL #NHLTradeDeadline #HockeyTwitter #HockeyX

Combine that with Granato being 7th all time in games coached without making the playoffs. It's (frank)ing maddening. We're trying to be bad.

Agreed.

He’s fine but the amount of OMG he’s amazing is entirely confusing.

He’s a 3C at max IMO.

I think a lot of it has to do with he fights and I’m not kidding. This fanbase loves that poop.

Friedman mentioned that Nashville could be looking at Olofsson. Wonder if there's anyway to get Trenin if that was to happen.

I am completely over the “veteran” defense, “he won a cup” and blah blah blah.

It’s all old school garbage saying he’s washed without saying he’s washed.

Next year, no more leadership hand me outs for old washed players.

1 year deals are fine but playing or overplaying the player hurts your chances of winning

Okpsos should’ve been a part time player like Anderson did the last couple years.

Erik Johnson the same.

My TDL predictions.

Okposo for a mid pick
E Johnson for a late pick
Olo and a pick for a pick.

Furthermore since he can't play defense in the NHL he should be putting up 30 a year in Rochester.

Led to believe the Florida Panthers have stepped up their efforts to try to acquire #Sens winger Vladimir Tarasenko. Vegas, Oilers, Rangers, Hurricanes and Oilers are also in the mix. Tarasenko has a full NTC so he has some control.
