Why not? One’s a top 5 defenseman and the other is just in his second year and people keep crapping on him even when plays against arent his fault. Power needs a legit DEFENSIVE PARTNER people.
- Jammerz04

Well then go get him one or put him with Samuelsson. Why would you put him with Dahlin for half a game. Your weakening Your Dcore then to basically 1 pair.

So your idea is to pay upwards a 1st+ (because that’s what’s it will cost for Skinner to be gone.) to deal Skinner’s bad contract and you follow that up bringing in another bad contract?

Resigning Mittelstadt would be the wrong way to go. He’s not worth what he will get. Best to trade him in the summer. Krebs can do what he does.

Trading him for a top 4 right handed defensive defenseman would be the best coarse of action.

- Jammerz04

I don't have an issue with your main thoughts here regarding Mitts and his value on a new contract, however there is zero proof that Krebs will ever hit 60 points. He may in several years with good linemates, but he has not shown it yet.

If Joker is indeed serviceable on P1 with Dahlin, and Sammuelsson does well without both Dahlin and Power, then put him on P3 with Johnson for awhile.

Still need a solid partner for Power.
That to me is the value Mitts brings...in a trade for a 2RhD.

I'm also intrigued by sending a 1st with Skinner to move him out and backfill with a better all around player. I'd consider it, maybe best suited as a move for the 25-26 season.

Going to have to disagree that Krebs will put up Mitts stats. And nothing stops you from teasing Mitts down the line to acquire a #4D.

You won't be able to bring in much more salary after next year without dumping Skinner. We have some guys who could take his spot cheap, easier than replacing a 60 point center. I'm trying to win next year, and Mitts and a young wing in skinners spot gives me a better chance than futures and skinner

Gonna be intriguing how this works out, hopefully Adams does something. I will be in shock if he actually does.

Friedman mentioned that Nashville could be looking at Olofsson. Wonder if there's anyway to get Trenin if that was to happen.

I'm sure it was for comic relief.

Still, having a one trick pony for a PO run on a team that is lower in actual GF isn't a horrible option.
Kevy may not want to hold more than 39.75252% of his Cap so that he has a "fair" deal though... More conversations required ... Many more.

Terry will not retain anything, Adams cornered himself, he is going to have to pull off a miracle to get future considerations for Olo.

It’s a pretty powerful message. He’s not even good enough to play for us. I’d be shocked if anyone takes him, even if we retain 50%

Will anyone even comment on Adams not being able to move:

Comrie/Olo/Jost/Bryson?

Terry's signing and Adams roster construction will result in the Sabres losing Skunk and Mitts while paying Skinner $9mm - wildly pathetic

The excuse 4 years into a top5 GM's rebuild, a retooling is required due to quality players continuing to avoid Buffalo like the plague.

Terry Pegula treats the Bills like a true investment because the NFL makes him do it.

He abuses the Sabres like a toddler beats up a toy because the NHL doesn't make him treat them like an investment.

Well he's getting paid to own a Team with one, instead of Paying to own a Team with another.

Bryson I'd keep and Olo/Jost are pretty much useless, so not on them. Comrie, I'd think, could get a late round pick from a contender for depth. There's a few teams with only one option right now.

Losing Skunk sucked.

Mitts should probably be retained if the avg is low, but can't pay him $7M to be a 3C in the long run.

I give him no credit, but that's pretty truthful. There were quite a few FAs that had their agents simply say no. Duchene and Orlov as examples, both would've been good gets for us.

Side question, do you think Adams sits on his hands again? I can definitely see him just trading Girgs and EJ, then saying the trades he wanted to make to improve the roster are summer time moves...but it's hard to accept that as a fan. Think he's going to do something bigger? I really liked the idea of getting Borgen back but that's still small peanuts to some extent as well.

Wyatt Johnston and Logan Stankoven are playing very well for Dallas.

The Sabres had the chance to draft both, and instead drafted Isak Rosen and Prokhor Poltapov.

Not like they needed a player like Wyatt Johnston at all.

He's only a tall Center averaging .75 PPG while being 50% on faceoffs.

The NHL is littered with former GM's who say if only, as to the defense of being fired.

Zero excuses for Adams.

If he can't get players to agree to play for the Sabres, get a GM in here who will.

Nobody should give a (frank) about how hard he tries.

Results are the only thing that matters.

What Adams wants to do and what other GM's and agents allow him are 2 separate issues.

Adams 4 years in, continues to fail at a high rate in multiple areas as a GM/leader. His wants are still unclear to anyone outside that building, other than his desire to draft and develop (which is a bubble that should burst in the next 8 months, opening another can of worms).

He is sitting on his hands because the league knows the position he is in and have no reason to give him an inch. He destroyed his leverage years ago. He will have to get aggressive and assume higher risk than what he has shown, I have no faith in even moving Girgs by the deadline.

Adams will say, he respects these vets and wants them to play on their terms, its a + because it allows Rochester to remain competitive which is good for development, and fans remain in the twilight zone.

Still want either one...?

@frank_seravalli This not much of a shock. Considering playoffs are realistic for the Flyers while still looking at their original long term plan, it would make sense to go long term with one player, while getting assets for the other. #LetsGoFlyers #NHL #NHLTradeDeadline #HockeyTwitter #HockeyX
