He's realized his team is flawed so he needs to make changes. Basically what happens when you hire someone with no experience as your GM.

President Lindy is the next best thing to Terry selling. Lindy would HAVE to have control of the team (including front office personnel and a say in coaching) and Terry would have to stay on his yacht.

It’s such a logical, easy, no brainer decision that Terry won’t make and it appalls me as a Sabres fan. BRING LINDY HOME!!!
