Smith, Graves, Eller, Acciari.....pretty much all had good to great analytics the past several season, some of them all of their careers. Nieto's were pretty decent last season.
Acciari's one partial season with the Blues is the worst of all seasons for all players I have mentioned. They were good when he went to TO (part of the ROR trade) to finish the season. - MattStrat
We must look for different things. I think Accairi has some of the worst analytics I've ever seen. Nieto is a little below average. I'd be happy to unload Acciari. Hopefully at least move him to wing. |

That Ludvig and Acciari have supporters shows how desperate we are to add some grit to the line up that we're championing bad players. |

I forgot all about nieto. AKA Beau bennett...At least acciari does bring some kind physical play. If you look at the teams that won the cups the past 6 years there big physical teams. Not what pittsburgh threw up on the ice the past 6 years. When's this going to change? New coach? I'm just tired of seeing every year the least penalized team in the league is the penguins. Every year it's reruns, stale and boring. Like the steelers but at least they made some changes minus the coach.
Obviously sullivan is the GM not dubas. Sullivan benched ian cole and played reaves 3 minutes a game because (i guess) he doesn't like that style of play. I hope it's true the penguins team is turning on sullivan.
I seen the devils traded for macdermaid. |

Above 50% in cats (xGF, HDs and CF) at 5 on 5 is what I looked at. Didn't look for, or at, microstat cards or anything like that. I said past several seasons for some of them. Some of them most of career like Eller. Acciari, besides with Blues, past several seasons (Cats and Leafs) have been good. Nieto I specifically said last season with Avs. |

I don't think the Bolts, who went to finals three times with two cups in the past 6 seasons, fit your bill. Sure, they had a couple guys like Maroon, but they weren't an overall big physical bruising team. |

It’s really cool when you understand hockey and don’t have to look at stats. |

At least he's only 25 and has more than 8 goals and only makes a million and a half more then over aged and overpaid EK.

Come on Dubie, trade someone before Poulin gets hurt again. - Thunderbolt
Poulin would be considered the mason rudolph of the steelers..Like Mike sullivan and mike tomlin. Waay past there time with a team. |

I assume this takes Vancouver off the list of interested parties for Guentzel |

Well then you just confirmed you only watch the penguins and you know nothing about any other team in the NHL.. Do some research and stop worrying about other peoples suggestions like try watching more hockey and less blasting people on this website with your "thoughts" about hockey in general. If you only know 1 team then stick with it, like you've stuck with the penguins non changing anything attitude. They did change GM's though but from there? Nothing else matters..Metallica.
Same ole..same ole
Oh remember when sullivan benched cole for ruh? and played reaves 3 some min a game? Reminds me of something that mike babs would do. Kinda arrogant. - jb55

Some rumor sites say we have been watching Noah Hanifin and essentially have been looking for a young LHD to replace Graves.
Also are saying Smith asking price is a 2nd + and we have talked some one for one hockey deal. Said Jarry was discussed but belief is he would get dealt following the season. |

Give him a couple games to get his legs back but trade or not, it would be absurd not to get him up in short order.

Just to inform you (I know you like stats) but the lightning team is 3rd this year in penalty minutes and also look alot better than the penguins.

Unless it's a sign and trade for Jake? I mean, no reports on there being a NTC or NMC |

I mentioned this the last blog or so, but I still think VAN could still go for it:
Pens: Noah Hanifan (extended), Conor Garland, Nils Hoglander
VAN: Jake Guentzel (2-3 mil retained by Cal)
CAL: Ryan Graves, POJ or Ty Smith (since they sent Tanev out), Owen Pickering, Pit 2nd and Vancouver 2nd
Then you can send out Ned and Smith to recoup draft capital |

I think it impacts Lindholm more than Jake. Vancouver has a lot of holes to fill next season but they have a lot of cap space to do it with. They need to ditch a salary to sign Jake to an extension though.
I think a deal centered around Jake & Graves for Garland, Zadorov (+++ obviously) could actually make a lot of sense for both teams. |

So for us:
Give: Jake, Graves, POJ, Pickering & a 2nd.
Get: Hanafin, Garland, Hoglander.
Yeah, I think it makes a lot of sense.
