You think Tocchet ran around unhinged and took selfish penalties because his team was losing. Tried to fight goalies, get into tirades because he had no self control. I do not see Tocchet reincarnated in any aspect of Bradys’ game.

Rather see Pettersson traded for a better class of player, talented with more self control, not Miller on anger steroids.

- Makita

2918 career pims, so I would guess a few of them were slightly selfish. Tocchet was hardnosed and was undisiplined in his early days. First 6 seasons averaged 240 pims! Then learned that he was more valuable on the ice then in the box. Fought anybody, hit hard and scored. Brady is young and is in the learning curve of not doing stupid things. Has all the tools to score, fight, hit and lead a team.
Brady and Miller on the ice together would be awesome.

Any thoughts on what Petey's next contract might look like.

Depends on what Ottawa offers him....

I am actually a little disappointed. I am still waiting for Arsedeep to score his first point so we can have a real celebration. Social media already has him playing on the top line, so if in fact when he does indeed score a point it will be crazy.

I say swap him out for Podz for a look. Give him 2 or 3 games and see how it works out and go from there.

I would bring up Raty and see what he can do. Bains looks like a AHL tweener to me. Skating is not NHL caliber but has a decent hockey mind. Find JV and swap some body parts to complete the puzzle.

Ryan Whitney saying Brady Tkachuck might be on his way out of Ottawa. Let the Petey rumours rage...lol
Brady
Pinto
For
Petey (re-signed)
+ something small Podz?
Brady is Tocchet reincarnated.
Pinto is 6'3 200+ After the gambling thingy might be available.
And both are American so fit the theme of the team.

He is not being traded. Whitney is a clueless moron

Eriksson Ek, Boldy, Rossi, Faber and Duhaime for Boeser and Petey.

The chance to maximize Kuz value was last offseason. It was a mistake to not sell high then.

You said the same thing about Miller.

I thought Pouty wanted to flog his fashion line in a big city like NY or LA.
Blue Steel Boeser will cheerfully tag along.

It's not about curiosity for me. Podz has NHL experience. 118 NHL games. 18 goals 33 points before being sent back plus there is familiarity with a lot of the current line up. I think there is more there for RT to work with in Podz presently. A 2 or 3 game look at least.

His fashion line and singing career fell faster than him in a puck scrum in the corner.

While Allvin remains active in keeping tabs on who may or may not be available, he feels confident about players like Linus Karlsson, Vasily Podkolzin, Aatu Räty and Max Sasson being able to provide depth to the Vancouver Canucks in the playoffs if the team needs a role player.

Allvin sees NHL-calibre players on their AHL roster.

- manvanfan

True, I did.
I can admit that I undervalued JT and did not think he had this type of skillset and able to do it over multiple seasons. I was wrong.
With Kuz though, and I stated this, it was a found player that cost nothing but a contract. Perfect chance to sell high and get multiple assets, as there was no cost paid.

Want to see Podz and Raty get a few games. I think Bains has looked fine, but would like to see what else they have for forward depth before the playoffs.

Even though Raty seems like the more seasoned prospects, he's the youngest of the three. Only 21.

Allvin wants Lekkerimäki to develop in Abbotsford but there might be a yellow with blue-coloured crowns speed bump keeping him from coming later this season.

Lekkerimäki’s strong play has to have caught the eye of Sweden’s World Championships team, and that would be a good opportunity to play with and against NHL-calibre players while representing his country as a rare U20 player at the tournament.

“If he doesn't make the World Championship team, the plan is to get him over here to start working with him in Abbotsford as soon as possible,” said Allvin.

I can't say what the price would have been but even the way he was scoring last season, I wouldn't have paid much to acquire him. Might have got a late round 2nd.

I'm sure there was probably some politics involved in extending him too. Keep good company with other Russians and agents that if their clients do come over, they won't be just instantly tossed around the league.

I like the idea of giving these players a "Show me what you can do Kid" stint with the big club. However, I cant see Tocchet or managment going with a rookie into the playoffs, after going all in on Lindholm.

With his 38 goals last year, IMO he would have got a decent prospect and a 2nd/3rd at the deadline last season. I agree with the good company issue you say though. Also the hype created by his goals and by the team marketing might have created a negative vibe if they dealt him. They had enough negative waves after the Bourdreau situation. Moriarty...always with the negative waves...
