I’m not one to use or accept excuses but will in this case. The grind & travel caught up to them. The loss to the Pens hopefully the end to it & a reset happens immediately. Just another test of adversity in a long season. Learning from losing & motivation.

I read he will either play for the Swedish national team or join Abby this year.

Easily a tier below & no his upside won’t get him there. If I’m wrong then plan the parade which isn’t outta the question. Cup on the resume & is a beast with wheels. Lastly idc about career curves or age or what the future cap is. You don’t pay forward if a smart GM. Your job is to sign a player at the best price that is good for the team now & let future seasons be the same on all other signings. Building cup contenders for more than one cup run is a team goal from the top on down to the ice. The best sports franchises do this & it’s the only model that makes any sense.

Not on the side expansion is best for the league but if it means more Western teams then I’m all for it. Really need to see travel even out more so the East doesn’t have such a large advantage. My 2 bits lol

I don’t think he ever wanted to leave Vancouver. With no contract extension in place Flames swooped in and made an offer. I was at Nevertouch lake on a buddies fishing trip, we were listening to the NHL network when it was announced. He had a reputation of being injured all the time yet I think he only missed 29 games in 4 years with the Flames. Be a great role model for the rest of the D corp.

I based it on mileage & the grind & possible injuries from less rest. That is good numbers on the cup winners though. I generally think more teams out west are built for cup runs. Throw in dynamic offence like the Oilers & maybe us makes for a good mix to beat along the way.
