Necas protected next deal is either 3 years at $6M per or 7 years at $7.3M per.

Still want him?

Yes, absolutely. Without a second thought.

Good is subjective.

Peyton Krebs being “good” and Mitts being “good” are two different versions of good.

Krebs is a good 11/12 forward. Mitts is a good 4-6 forward.

Anyone doing an I told you so on a guy with 3g 8a is wild

- sbroads24

They gave Mitts 12-1/2 seasons to finally grown-up and apply himself.
I'm ok giving Krebs more time with decent linemates ... If next season it is more of the same with production, then get rid of him.

I agree
Said it a couple days ago

Are you giving Necas the Tage or Cozens deal?

That's his projected next deal.

For backups its a crap shoot. IF we're signing a backup it best not be for more than a 1 year deal.

Im putting it at 95% UPL/Levi is the tandem next year.

- DirtyDan

If they can find a decent bu with 1 season left, that should be the play
Then move the BU at the '25 TDL and promote Levi for final ~25 games

Trust me, it really does.

I'd be asleep at the wheel playing with those morons.

I don't get not having RyJo there.. did they not play tg in College.. Already chemistry. Both can learn/grow together.

Better than Erik backin his a$$ into Power and nullifying him on half the plays.

If you consider Minnesota and Michigan the same school, then sure.

Lol, Quinn had Krebs current goal and point total last year by like game 15.

The point isn't that Krebs can't be useful, it's that it has to turn into goals at some point.

Mitts, Quinn etc had better results scoring early on and it isn't remotely close

- sbroads24

Where do you think they project Krebs, with the next wave of prospects ready to jump in?

Year 3 and you'd think he hasn't had an opportunity.

I don’t need them to get rid of him. At all.

I actually think he’s a good 4C

I need for people to stop pushing for him to get these undeserved roles

Major problem to me is I'm not sure the GM actually projects players or listens to the projections.

He just loves players overall, and overvalues them as a result, without thinking where they fit as puzzle pieces.

Probably somewhere 10-13th on the forward org depth chart.

Would you sign a 4C (better than Jost) this summer?

Not having another option is an issue right now, if you want to move him up in the lineup.

If they extend Mitts, good chance they move him within a year. I'm sure he doesn't want to be the next Girgs.

This, along with the stated goal of building a “home grown” team through draft/develop reminds me of Dale Tallon with FL.

Friedman is saying Nick Jensen could be available, not the shinniest toy but wouldn't be a bad partner for Power.

He has gotten an opportunity though, brass simply pigeon holed him into being some shutdown defensive center type, which he isn't. He's a pest, that's about it on that side. Here's the proof, clear as day to see:

In the 2023-24 season, his most common linemates are Okposo, Girgs, Robinson and Olofsson. He has 11 points in 58 games with these players.

His most common linemates in 2021-22 were Hinno, Cozens, Tuch and Mitts. He had 22 points in 48 games with these players.

Long story short, he did pretty well as a rookie when given a chance...he's just not getting chances here anymore. Sounds like there's a decent chance Philly is going to grab him up, they'll turn him into a good playmaker.

This isn’t true, he’s played 164 minutes (EV) with Peterka. He’s his third most common linemate

Mitts was more an LW than C last year. Now that it was switched, makes Krebs their clear 4C and they don't have a 5th. Hurting 2 other lines to make him a 3C didn't help the team.

4 1st rounder ready to hit the NHL at some point next season. No clue what they are planning (assuming they have one).

Where are you getting that? Sorry if I'm wrong but looking at dobber and adding lines, he's got almost 60 mins with Peterka unaccounted for. Perhaps they didn't update yet?

Either way, if it's Peterka and Girgs or Peterka and Okposo, I personally don't see that as an opportunity. Playing 4 on 5 isn't a beneficial situation.

Just trade him and watch him blow up on Philly then. No point putting our best passer outside Mitts on the 4th line.

If we wanted to ice the best product, this would be it tomorrow:

Peterka Tage Tuch
Skinner Mitts Cozens
Kulich Krebs Benson
Robinson Girgs Greenway

Edit: Skinner really needs to get scratched for a game, maybe he'll get his head right. I almost put Kulich at 4C and called Rosen up, so I could toss Girgs into the sun, but didn't want to explode more minds today.
