Incredible it took till February for them to have the 3 worst players on the 4th line.

While it was a little funny to see the Sabres org loudly trumpeting about putting a new roof on the arena, it is the logical first step in any plans to update/renovate the interior.

Not positive, but I think Bob will be in goal tonight. and Tkachuk should be back in after missing their last game.

Who would you put there?

Im not breaking up the Krebs line. Line 2 has also been great tg. Not moving any of the larries to line 1.

He has the offensive talent to play there and he's not anymore of a defensive liability than skinner

I'd rather see 7D than Olofsson.

Also have issue breaking up a line to move someone up.

Realistically, it’s probably the best spot for him.

One would reasonably think we might have picked up a couple points if the Okposo experiment never happened

Wonder if there will be anything lingering from at the end of last game.
FL got the PP in garbage time after scoring an empty netter, you could see (I think greenway) Sabres on the bench chirping at Lomberg before the face off, the linesman even had to skate Lomberg away from their bench to go line up for the face off. LoL, Lomberg quickly scores and then skates by the Sabres bench telling them to, “suck it beedee!” Then the refs threw him out when the Sabres went for him off the next draw. Expecting to see a Sabres team determined to flip the script tonight.
Hopefully it’s a fun game.

Can anyone help me. Why does it seem Ryan Johnson is the first to be scratched? I do not understand enough to see why this is a benefit.

Real question in the hopes i can understand the reasoning.

Going off of points is a bad idea, as that line produces none. ZKO is weighed down more heavily by Girgs, but Okposo's inability to either hold the puck or distribute it is glaringly obvious. Both of them are extremely heavy anchors and would probably not even be top line guys in the AHL anymore.

Krebs is producing at a higher clip and has better CF numbers away from the pair of them, albeit a smaller sample size to look at still. However, it's tough to avoid the fact that Krebs' high danger chances per 60 has almost quadrupled since the break away from the LOG line.

I can get playing EJ and moving him at the TDL. I don't get Bryson. Can they move him? He should not be back next year, so what are they trying to do? Just feels like an organization struggling to make decisions and favoring vets.

You nailed it. Girgs numbers are not pretty, sorry Boss.

Krebs w/ Okposo 51.0 xGF%
w/o 49.3
Okposo w/o Krebs 55.0

Krebs w/ Girgs 49.7
w/o 54.6
Girgs w/o Krebs 45.4

w/ Dahlin 58.3
w/o 51.8

Almost as automatic of an L when UPL is in a shootout. Winning on ESPN or ESPN + is normal also an automatic L

The team is coached by a Juniors coach... He doesn't believe in Advanced Analytics so he doesn't realize RJ is better than EJ...
Coupled with he is going to get EJ's 1,000th game in a Sabres uniform.

EJ needs 31 games to reach 1000. With only 24 games left in our season, I pray to the Hockey Gods this isn't a thing. If he's back next year, we'll know the earth is flat and the lizard men are in full control.

Not dwelling on points for 4th liners, but the fact Girgs has yet to get an assist is pretty mind boggling.
