I definitely don't think Lindholm is his replacement that's for sure since people are suggesting they trade Petey and sign Lindy for 8m per.

If they cant fit Petey's contract into their plans then its a tough decision but people need to give their head a shake who want him removed from the team because of their petty bias. The Canucks will suffer badly for moving a 25 y/o player with that skillset and move forward with centers in their 30's.

I know who's going to remind me that they could trade for a young C but it's laughable since they are trading away one of the best in that age category just to go shopping for his replacement.

The problem with moving Petey is what are you getting back in the deal? How does anyone justify trading the 25 year old star while you're in 1st overall?

You need to replace him both now and in the future, which means you need at at a minimum one of the league's top prospects , a high first round pick and roster help.

This is an established 25 year old star. You don't just throw them away because you feel they're going to cost too much, you try to draft another one.

You’re one of the many idiots, I was simply pointing out Pettersson is highly under appreciated and doesn’t deserve as much criticism as he gets. He played an ok game, he had the second most ice of any forward so to say he was our least effective forward shows what an idiot you are. Tocchet doesn’t play the least effective forward the second most ice time. Everyone wants the kid to be a superstar each and every night, which is ridiculous, he’s not MacKinnon or McDavid.

Solid post Lefty, one of very few, but solid post.

They wouldn't dare trade him during this season. It would be way too disruptive. Are people actually pushing this idea now? Because of a slump? I haven't been in here for a week so I don't know. All the talk was about in the summer before I took a break.

I guess I could see the Toxic Three pushing that idea. Do anything including sacrificing the best season in almost 15 years to get rid of a player they hate.

Raty’s picking up points lately, 2 goals and an assist tonight.

I think years 3,4 and 5 will be a bargain, 6,7 and 8 I am not so sure.

He'll be 33 entering the last year of the deal. Imagine what the cap will be like then?

The Boston Measuring Stix have lost 7 of their last 10.

Canucks have lost 6 in their last 10.

Canucks 1w 1l against the Stix in those 10 games.

1 point separates the two teams.

Looks like two good teams having a mirror type season to me.

Yeah, why not drop your name in the ring. It's so unlikely but you'd be a fool not to let GM's know you are interested and miss out because you were asleep at the wheel. An acquisition like that sets up the C position for the next 10 years.

No imagining needed. Max is 5% a year or $123.3m when his 8th year.

12m would be 9.7% of the cap

I am expecting Covid 23 by then. Cap will go back down and the only city that will be able to afford an 80 mil cap will be Arizona seeing they didn't spend in the previous 20 years.

Seriously I am not sure the NHL will have 20 mil contracts. Too many weak sisters that would fall to the bottom. Teams like Wpg Calgary Ottawa would probably fold or relocate.

Especially with the poor officiating. I threw that in for Booner.

Ottawa has a really bad rink location issue and Calgary has one of the oldest barns in the league.

Winnipeg is a different story. Not only is it the smallest market, it doesn't have the corporate support. They need to be successful on the ice to be successful off of it.

If a team gave a great offer on a trade right now, and EP reluctance to sign a deal before putting the team against the wall , then trade his ass
