I thought the refs call everything even late in games? Interesting.

I don't think anyone said that?

Yeah, right? They never let a game be decided by the players.

Even if they win the fact they gave the pens a point is a loss

They will just have to blow it in OT like the last game.

Edit: Pelech says NO!

On the heels of last night's game, I can't say there's a whole lot to feel good about. It seems to be just more of the same, where the team performs strong early before completely collapsing late.
Our players continue to make life on Sorokin difficult, often allowing screens and tips while doing the same themselves. They also continue to struggle with puck recovery and movement below their own goalline.
This all has been a problem for the last 3 seasons now and seems to get worse and worse

It may as well have been an OT loss to some random Western Conference team, considering we gifted a point to a team we're fighting for a playoff with. Feels like, even with the win, that we only netted 1pt last night.

Just the NHL refs picking and choosing when to make calls. Keaner was not happy with the non calls against the Pens late in the game.

I think if, or when, Burke ever leaves for a full-time national gig that Alan Fuerhing will take over. He's the BPT play-by-play guy that fills in when Burke is doing TNT games and I actually think he's really good too.

I wasn't indeed. But that doesn't mean that the refs calling Barzy and Mayfield in the prior game was not the right call. At least from a player's perspective, they can't take liberties while just assuming they'll get away with it because it's late in the game.

Barzys penalty in that Rags game was blatant and there's just no way they weren’t going to call it. Mayfield's may have looked worse than it was but it was out in the open and pretty obvious.

If we end up in a situation where we feel we lost because the refs refused to ignore our infractions, we deserve our fate.

The refs were letting the interference infractions go all night last night for the Pens.

It would just be nice to get more consistency.

NHL officiating is definitely the model of inconsistency. Only the NFL may actually be worse. It really comes diwn to the players recognizing the tendencies of the officiating crew and understanding the trends in the game.
Regardless, the Isles become extremely careless late in games and it's killed them, inconsistent officials or not.
