Regarding the Canucks retiring numbers, it’s a complete joke, as we all know. You could make a case for three players having their numbers retired, Bure, Henrik & Daniel, and even then it’s debatable.

According to Craig Patrick, Jagr did his best to manipulate the draft so that he could end up in Pittsburgh playing alongside Mario Lemieux.

"I found out years later that when he was interviewed by teams ahead of us, he told them all that he wasn't coming over

The Pens definitely knew and the fix was in. I remember the commentary at the draft said he will take a while to come over. Nedved during his post draft interview said something like he was the best player there. Better than him. I knew right then and there the Canucks got ripped.
