Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout. Got a 4 pack of this very hard to find world class Stout chilling in the fridge. I've had their regular Breakfast Stout and its amazing. This one takes it a few steps farther having it fermented in oak Bourbon barrels. My favorite beer place had this one on tap Thursday. I went there last night for dinner only to discover it was already gone.! Considering the inflated price tag, I'm hoping it lives up to its hype. Plain on tasting it later tonight with a choice cigar.

.....Very complex. 12% ABV!!. Normally I cannot stomach hard liquor in any form other than vodka. The Bourbon flavor dominates at first, but in a good way. It quickly dissipates and reveals a layered nutty, coffee, chocolatity, hoppy flavors that are amazing. It has that thick motor oil look that reminds me of Stone Russian Imperial Stout. As the beer warms to room temp the flavors seem to intensify. I'm all about the hops when it comes to beers, but this is one was the best Stout I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. You can easily tell the craftsmanship that goes into making this beer. Which warrants the price tag I guess. Definitely not one to pass up if you like the style and have the opportunity to purchase.

Allagash makes great stuff. Havent had that one, but I have had the Curieux, Tripel and Grand Cru. All very good, but the Curieux was incredible.
