I was skeptical but just came from there for dinner and it’s so good. Capicola and cheese is my go to, spicy, fries and a simple cabbage and vinegar slaw

this is another one that looked better on the shelf than it tasted in my mouf.

honestly, it tasted old. i know it just got there because i frequent the store but it tasted old to me. too malty, not hoppy enough. the drink by date is almost illegible so i have no way of really knowing for sure. my best guess is nov 23 2019.

the more i drink this the worse it gets.

the only fun in this post is that you can see my handsome self in the reflection on the beer bottle.

- kicksave856

Drink by dates are bullpoop and shouldn't be allowed, especially with IPA's. Tell me when you canned that poop or GTFO.

quite the hullabaloo in the ontario craft beer world this week.

I guess the Ontario Craft Brewers Association met with some members of the provincial government and noted poophead/virgin/homeschooled/homophobic/pro-lifer wiener MPP Sam Oosterhoff was in the photo-op with a bunch of brewery reps.

What a mess.

samesis. my favorite time of the year.

think our boys take a big step season. IF they can get one vet pitcher and an outfielder with a bat.

there's a core there for sure. my fear is that they figure they can fill 2B and CF with Madrigal/Robert and then round out the rotation with Kopech and a reclamation project and be perfectly fine. It's possible, but I'd like for once to see them have depth. Bring somebody in to make Madrigal earn second and expect Robert to possibly have the same learning curve Eloy did. I'd love them to sign Cole but I'm expecting maybe Wheeler?

I figure they can be .500 or better next year.

i think they are going big game hunting. hahn hasn't come out and said but has given indications that is the plan.

even with roberts, they still need another bat in the OF. castellanos would be a good target. jd martinez is another on their radar.

madrigal and roberts tore it up this season on multiple levels. i think both have bright sutures.

aaaaand we're back.

after (frank)ing work i quick got into a lyft and made my way to a bar in the city called national mechanics. the bar food type stuff was pretty good and there's a feta & kalamata olive type dip that was off the charts.

anyway, the beer list wasn't huge, probably about 10 beers but i did manage to have one i hadn't tried before.

first i had a yard's son of sam. it's solid. nothing groundbreaking but i'm in the city, right? so have a yard's.

but next i had the bell's official, which is a hazy ipa that i'd never heard of. it was really good for a beer that nobody's ever mentioned to me before. as far as hazy IPAs go i'd say this is in the upper echelon. not the tippity top or anything like that but if you're breaking it off into quarters this is in the top 25% to me for sure. probably 7.95 S2TPs. i'd buy it again. if i ever frigging saw it in a store.

oh, also. i sampled the pumking and it's good this year. spicy, sure. but mostly sweet and creamy like pumpkin pie, which is what i always loved about it. i wouldn't want to sit and drink 2 or 3 of them but if i'm going to drink a pumpkin beer it's gonna be pumking every time.

EDIT: also, these guys are cool.

i mean, i'd hang out with those guys.
