It's a cant go wrong for me. They ran out of my first choice Gulden Draak (boo hoo) so fell back on DT.

But the Cellar Door really was the star.

- nfph

I'd gladly take either of those. I've never had Cellar Door. I do like witbiers when they get the herbal/spice balance right though so sounds good.

I'm going to have one of these as soon as I figure out when I actually want to sit and drink a 1L (34oz) beer. I don't understand that size when it's a kind of beer that needs all the yeast in it to taste its best lol. Still, I love weizenbocks so I think I'll like it.

Awesome labels too.

Their regular pale ale is a pleasant surprise. Scotch ale is on my list too.

Yeah, their Wee Heavy is a bourbon and chocolate heaven.

A friend brought me a growler of Citra-Weiss. Wheat beer with banana, exotic fruits, grapefruit, a hint of vanilla and a small peppery bitterness finish, or dare I say, the mother of all thirst beers

Sounds like a hopfenweisse clone really. Try this if you haven't already. Make sure they're fresh though.

I guess since it has a swing top they're wanting you to reseal it but I just don't trust that it'll taste right if I leave it like that for a few days. The first half of the bottle would be so mediocre too because it'd have no yeast in it.

Well yeah, that was pretty much it Found it better than LTM's. I hope they bottle it soon, right now we can only find it in some bars and in growlers at the brewery in Rideau.

I could endlessly drink that style of beer, it's ridiculous. They basically had a Trou Du Diable tap takeover at The Only Cafe here with 5 or so of their beers on tap and Shawinigan Handshake was so good that I didn't end up being able to try everything.

I had a two year old Schneider Aventinus tonight and it may very well be the best beer I've ever had. I like fresh Aventinus but this blew it away.

something has been wrong with aventinus for the last year or two imo, they sent a bad batch to the US and then supposedly fixed the problem but every time i see it at the pub it still has the weird look of the bad batch

so you must have been drinking one of the awesome old ones the way they used to be

I don't know, I've never had an Aventinus that tasted as good as that 2year old bottle. I think it just ages really really well. I need a time machine so I can age more and see if that was really why it was so good.

If anyone's a Pilsner fan, try Mama's Little Yella Pils. Probably Colorado's best Pilsner.
