You can have your anyways you want. The type of cut we get is from a Portugese supermarket so I don'no the name of the cut in English but other than Filet Mignon there's nothing better. Letting it cook to Medium in my opinion is the best way but hell if you want blood then dag nabbit you will get blood.

LoL. No they just moved it to Misc. Lounge. I guess with good reason.

I hope it holds up too. I could really use a nice day out. This week hasn't been that nice to me.

Dop!

The Sabres lost game 5 because my cigar ran out before overtime! That was my secret weapon karma. It worked for game 4 and kept the Sabres in for game 5. Alas, I should have anticipated a tobacco need for overtime...oh well...Canada deserves a Cup (and don't tell anybody, but I kinda like Emery - the guy boxes...how can you not like a boxing goalie?).

That said,

As a celebration for completing a semester, I've spent too much money on beer. This is good for you all, since I've discovered a beer not worth spending good money on:

"3 Philosophers" suck (I'm a Philosophy major and guess I got duped!). It comes from the "Ommegang" brewery, which is famous for Ommegang...

[/img]

...and should only be famous for that beer since it's the only good beer they make. If you buy from these guys, stick to the original 'Ommegang', and stay away from their offspring brands. I've tried a few and they're ok, just not worth the $$$.

But this is a quality beer...

Good beer. Not as hoppy as the regular LaChouffe, but good tasting and a little heavy, so dont eat too much with this one. Have a cigar and enjoy the beer flavor.

Also, if anybody knows of some cool bars to visit in Quebec City and Ottawa, please post them here. I'm going out there next week and would really appreciate it. Good beer places and good hockey watching places, let me know.

Drink good and have fun, guys!!!

What kind of glass did you drink the 3 Philospher's out of? It is important to drink it from the right container as a lot of the complex flavours need to expand. Also the temperature for serving is key as well, it should be served at room temperature in a glass like this:

Drank cold out of the bottle it's disgusting. The flavours are too rich and the carbination to strong to actually be enjoyed.

That being said it is more like a sherry or a wine then a beer. Meant to be sipped and savored, not drank. I enjoy it as it has a slightly less alcoholic taste than most of the Abbey beers. I could see why someone wouldn't like it, but to me it is a fine brew for sitting by the fire and relaxing.

I'm getting prepped for mine tonight. Got'ta pull out the Monster grill. I got a custom made grill. It's 50 Gallon Drum. Cut in half and welded brackets on the back. Two little extension tables on each side of it. Paid $200 but it's a real conversation peice since it's not something people usually have at home. Plus It's big enough to the point where I can smoke a medium size pig.

I have two large grills, one that sounds like yours with 50 gallon drum, I need to have a couple pieces of metal welded to the legs cause it's a little shakey. Also bought a New Braunfells smoker 8 years ago when they were still made in Texas, since then they sold to Char Broil and everything is made in China. Mine weighs about 200 pounds the new ones are half the weight! It has the smoke box on the side and a chimney on the other end. I do pork butts, ribs, brisket you name it. Love smoking you just sit in a chair, drink beer, moniter the temperature for about six hours! Use only hardwood lump charcoal or wood chunks, preferably cherry wood.

By moving this thread outta the NHL forum, where it used to serve as a meeting place for the fans of teams that were currently still playing in the playoffs......to discuss with each other something other than the playoffs........I think was a bad move by the mods.

It was kinda like a cyber pub.

Should have waited until the Finals were over.

Good morning, shaking off the cob webs from a long weekend in the states! Couldn't agree with you more, this is a good place to discuss hockey and beer without the "your team sucks" stuff. The Ducks are a mean bunch aren't they? At least you have some bangers, hopefully enough. Hey if they keep us at the kids table maybe we can start our own site and call it BeerBuzz.com

I started drinking around 4pm and kept drinking till 1:30am when we called it a night. But the food was great the company was great. Lucky for me there was tons of steak. I BBQ Saturday and on Monday night and still have 4 or 5 steaks left over. LoL.

Sounds like a blast. Me and a buddy have been wanting to go golfing for a while. His pops bought some land in PA and he got a free set of clubs so we are thinking about going but don't wan'na go to a full lenght 18 hole course our first time. Thinking about this smaller course around here that does 9 holes and I think the farthest one is something like 150 yards.

Don't get too frustrated at first, unless you're a natural. One of the most enjoyable and annoying games yet it can hook you. The only problem is that it's time consuming and expensive to play. What beer and food going down this weekend?

I heard from more than you that it can be very addicting. Now I just have to go have a day of it. Not this weekend cause I might have to work but next sounds like a good idea. Beer and food this weekend are on the back burner. I think a nice night out at a Pub or Lounge sounds good. I don't think I have the energy to set up another BBQ.

If you hit one or 2 good shots, you may become addicted. You'll have that thought in your head that "hey, maybe this isn't so tough". As long as you go out there to have fun, which judging by your participation in this thread should be no problem, you will enjoy it. A few beers during the round don't hurt either. Good luck.

Buddy of mine calls it PUB Golf. Bring a cooler full of beer and your good to go. I won't take it to serious. Plus I don't think I could stay out in the heat for 18 holes. I'll go to do a 9 hole run and just have fun. Just something to do out with the guys.

If you're on a cart and have cold beer you'll make it through 18, I usually walk but my course is fairly flat( beers in golf bag). If you quit at nine holes you can't offically play the 19th hole!
