LoL. I'm having a BBQ this week (God willing the weather stays nice). Instead of having a bunch of people bring a bunch of different beers I was thinking about having everyone pick 1 type of beer and everyone buys the same. Basicly I'm looking for an official BBQ Beer for this event. LoL.

Blah screw thier beer tastes. My house. I'm the cook. I command all. MUAHAHAHAHAHA! However the last time I had a BBQ people who brought beer was either Corona's or Hieny's. So basicly that's it. I will still be getting a case of Brooklyn Brew. People can try it if they want.

Have you ever heard of Angel Flight? They have private pilots fly sick kids to hospitals all over the country to get treatment. Anyway, Buffalo has one of those pilots, and he had a charity fundraiser for the Angel Flight program. He had an extremely similar set up for his fundraiser to the pictures you posted. I think he told me they went through 800 chickens or something to that effect!

Can't believe I haven't seen this thread before, I love it! Beer and hockey, what else do you really need???

Denver might not have playoff hockey this spring but we can drown our sorrows away cause Colorado produces the most beer per capita in the country (really, no urban legend, its a fact). And when I'm talking Colorado brews I'm not talking about Coors (we just make that stuff to export to the rest of the country). Colorado is LOADED with microbreweries in just about every corner of the state so you never run out of new beers to try around here. If you ever make the trip through this neck of the woods, I highly recommend trying some suds from one of these breweries:

Coopersmiths (only on tap in Fort Collins)
Odells
New Belgium
Phantom Canyon
Avery
Breckenridge Brewing

Or go to the Tap House in downtown Denver and try hundreds of them all at once!!!!! And don't miss the Great American Beer Festival each September, the country's largest beer festival.

Enjoy your brewskies during the Finals everyone!!!!

Thanks for the info, Colorado sounds like a beer meca.
So many beer's, so little time.
I will be spending many hours during these play-offs and afterwards, searching out, and enjoying the many excellent brews suggested on this thread. There truly is a world of beers for me to explore, instead of buying the same thing out of some weird sense of loyalty or comfort with any one brand. If I take a chance with something new, I'm sure I will seldom be disapointed.
I Beer!
Bring on the finals!
BTW: Anyone ever try an Austrian beer called Stiener? Very nice.
$1.85 for a 500 ml can. Only at The Beer Store.

Never heard of it, but it wouldn't suprise me if Chevetta's did the BBQ for the event, in Buffalo it is an Icon right up there with chicken wings and beef on weck. Nothing says summer in Buffalo more than BBQ Chivetta's chicken.....mmmm.....

What beer to have with the chicken - a nice Hefe Weizen with a slice of lemon.

Can you have bar-b-qued poutine? As for the beers just make sure the guests bring enough for the host, I personally would want a good variety and no national brands!

No Poutine. LoL. Plenty of steaks. Buddy of mine, his parents own a small supermarket thing and he get's a really really good deal on prime cut steaks. Top quality stuff if I do say so myself. Plus I always got'ta have burgers. My gramps owns a lunch truck so I get a connection for 1/2 Pound Burgers. 40case for only $21 of half pound burgers you can't go wrong.

I don'no how you's like to cook your steak but all I season them with is Kosher Salt and slap them over some charcoal I don't like adding a bunch of stuff to it.

If you live in Canada you have to try President's Choice Memories of Kobe steak sauce. Generally I don't marinate my steaks, but this is a nice change every once in a while.

I think I like all of the PC Memories of... sauces.

MY recent favourite is Memories of Tuscany. It is a fig-balsamic sauce that is great on grilled vegetables.

Sure man if you can get to New Jersey by saturday feel free to PM me to come have a beer. LOL.

I am not going to lie. I love steak sauce. I have a few different ones at home. I can't remember the names but obviously I have A1. However for pork I always seem marinate them in a mix of lemon juice, hot sauce, salt, peper, and a very good amount of garlic. I've never had a complaint on it and everyone seems to love it.

But for steaks on a BBQ let them good to Medium or Medium well depending on the people and try using just Kosher Salt for one of them. Buddy of mine from Newfound Land had some steak at my last BBQ and demanded to know what I did. I told him just Kosher salt and medium cooked and now that's all he BBQ's with.

I'll have to try the salt thing, but can I have mine Medium Rare? If it's prime beef you got to let it bleed!

You can have your anyways you want. The type of cut we get is from a Portugese supermarket so I don'no the name of the cut in English but other than Filet Mignon there's nothing better. Letting it cook to Medium in my opinion is the best way but hell if you want blood then dag nabbit you will get blood.
