I used a 'thank you, you' the other day in real life and it went off without a hitch.

That is a good price he got but I don't like Stella. Lagers are easy to find and cheap in Quebec from what I've seen. I don't drink standard lagers though.

Costco only carries so many Brands (imported and domestic) not all brands.

In the past I've bought Bitburger, but they don't have it all the time. It probably is the best beer they've ever had.

Just had these for the first time. Very nice.

In all honesty though the average beer consumer in Ottawa can save quite a bit if they pick their beer up in Quebec. One of my earlier legal beer memories was picking up a 24 of Carlsberg (lol) for $24 in Quebec when I was 18. It was a sale but still, it was $15 cheaper than it was here or something crazy.

Just don't expect there to be any decent prices for anything good.

My sister and bro-in-law live on an Army base near Topeka, Kansas and she sent me 8 beers (2 of 4 varieties) from Tallgrass Brewing, which is located right near them. I've read that they prefer to package their beers in 16oz cans because ZERO light can get in and the cans make it easier for shipping (by weighing 12x less than glass). She sent their 8-Bit Pale Ale, Oasis Double IPA/Imperial IPA, Buffalo Sweat Stout (milk stout) and Velvet Rooster Belgian Style Trippel. Nice birthday presents!

8-Bit is pretty damn good. If I compare it to Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale, I really think I'd go with the 8-Bit

I really enjoyed Buffalo Sweat. It had a big coffee aroma/flavor up front and there was a sweetness in both aroma and taste. Definite sweetness on the finish.

Gotta rip into the other two. This might become a favorite brewery for me if the Oasis and Velvet Rooster don't disappoint.

I've never had a problem with cans. I've had a few skunked bottles though. Sure they don't look as nice as bottles but I've had some great beers from cans. Pretty sweet presents.

indeed. had a few skunkers myself. always in green and clear bottles.

had the Oasis tonight. this was pretty dang good. had the typical characteristics...hoppy, malty, sweet finish, slight alcohol presence and is quite the tongue coater.
