okay. this raisin beer or whatever it is isn't really doing it for me. i'll drink it, but i don't feel like i ever need to buy it again.

it feels funny in my mouth and leaves an aftertaste that i'm not all that pleased with. (where have i heard that sentence before?)

ok. what do you guys know about these?

- kicksave856

hey i've been drinking the verboten all week! i generally like everything i've had from weyerbacher. PA brewery too i think

i don't like dogfish myself, they are all really hoppy. folks who are into the hops seem to LOVE them.

the raison d'etre one? does it taste bitter to you? you might not be a fan of heavy hops

oh poop yeah. i forgot you guys had that banana bread beer. pissed me right off at the time.

i heard dave in my ear poking me with her finger telling me to get the weyebacher. i could be wrong, but i just felt like she would be telling me to get it.

and the other one said some poop about raisins or some crap, so i bought it.

yeah, i hear great reviews but that one just isn't for me.

the banana beer was okay, but it tastes like it's primarily for dessert (duh, right?).

and by the time i got to the weyerbacher my mouth had been comprimised by these other beers so i'm sure i didn't get the true taste but i did like it so far. tomorrow i'll drink it first.

Most of their beers are pretty sweet (literally). With the Innis and Gunn Original beer hops are mostly used for aroma and thanks to the oak aging you've got a bit of vanilla for taste with sweet malts dominating for the most part. Each version has a bit of a different taste to it but they still all taste fairly similar.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who only enjoys hoppy beers but they're definitely worth a try for anyone else.

Clear bottles is a little risky though. I haven't had a problem with their beers but I'm sure it can be an issue especially since it's imported from Scotland. A lot could go wrong on the way from there lol.

i'm definitely a hop head, but i don't mind trying new beers. maybe i'll take one of the two versions for a spin. can't hurt. my store has two of theirs, Original and a dark one, in 22oz. bottles.

I've never bought the large bottles, only the 330ml ones or whatever size they are. Hopefully you like it if you buy some.

Indeed. He drinks a lot of the same beers I like so it's nice. I kind of got him into all the fancy stuff lol.

All the beers were amazing but I hadn't had the Affligem Dubbel in a while. So yummy.

I'm not a big fan of abbey ales, but affligem is a definite keeper.
