The only option is to send him to Juniors.

45 xGF according to money puck tonight.

Don’t know what NST had him at but he’s been great as a whole since the break.

Skinner and Tage got completely rolled again tonight. That is a far bigger issue then Benson on the proverbial 3rd line

Worth a try. Take anything for him.
I’m worried KA thinks it makes him look inept if he moves him so soon. The crown jewel of his off season moves

Meant Joker. Clifton won't be moveable at the deadline.

Every Flyers player is pulling up to the Stadium Series tonight dressed as Rocky @BarstoolPhilly @spittinchiclets

Can't remember the last time they forced OT and stole 2 points. Have they done it all season?

Still feels good despite their record.

Fun win for sure

Would you buy out Clifton after this season?

Would only be a shade over a million against the cap for 4 seasons.

39%. That line has a lot of trouble tonight. Tough line to play on the road. 3 scoring chances for, 8 against.

You know it's not even being discussed there, right?

My gut says no, 4 years is too long.

I’ve seen worst d-men be moved. With two full years remaining after this season I don’t think it’s impossible.

A more realistic scenario is relegating him to the #7 role and keeping Joker as the third pairing RHD.

All in all though they have enough cap the next two seasons that Clifton won’t prohibit them from doing what needs to be done to upgrade the d-corps without buying him out

Panthers absolutely lighting up Tampa.

They are the best team in hockey.

- kingcong39

Vasi wasn’t really Vasi today, and some of the Panthers first period shots seemed to have eyes. Best part was that they didn’t let up at all when they got up by 3, then 4..

Off-season, it's possible. At the TDL, with too much term to retain? Can't imagine it.

You're suggesting a 3rd pair of Samuelsson 4.28 + Joker 3.5 and a 3.3m 7th D? That would cause massive problems.

I think Samuelsson is in the top 4.

Ryan Johnson is cheap.

Leaves you room for one more top 4 d-man ticket.

Lots of ELC’s in the forward group to help negate it.

Obviously I was counting RJ in the top 4.

You can cram it in, but extending Mitts + adding a top 4 does put you close enough to the cap that you're looking at taking an overage.

We also know they aren't going to give Clifton the Olofsson treatment in year 2. It's not how they work.

I did a mock up of it with no additions and cheap fillers. Rosen, Kulich, Rousek, and a pair 800k extras.

81.7m cap hit, 3m of bonuses. 5.8m of effective cap space.

You can cram in someone, but it's tight. $ aside, term is big concern with anything they do this offseason.

Not saying I agree with this, but has to be considered.

“Projecting RFA signings
- Mittelstadt 2 year arb award $4.75M
- Jokiharju 1 year arb award $2.75M
- Luukkonen 3x$3.75M (Gustavsson as a comp)
- Krebs 3x$1.4M (1st Tage contract as a comp)

$13 mil to figure out backup goalie, get a real top 4 D, and fill out 2 bottom 6 wings”

Those are pretty sketchy.

Walk Mitts + Joker straight to UFA (and those are very low arb numbers). Buy 1 UFA year on UPL. I projected Krebs at 2m. Guess 1.4 isn't the biggest $ difference in the world, but it's low.

It would save a lot of money next year, but kill you long run.

My stance on Mittelstadt is and will always be a 3-4 year deal at $6.5-7M per.

If they walk Joker to UFA it’s not the end of the world. You’ve committed your cap to Dahlin/Power/Samulesson already.

Rest seams reasonable

I went with 5/6 years at 7m for Mitts. 3 years on Joker. Trade him or buy a couple UFA years. No reason to take these guys straight to UFA. They have to make real decisions.

1 year @ 2m for UPL. See how next year plays out.

I'd consider these GM101 moves. KA failed on the basics in year 1, but he's got better people around him now.

If they're smart, they're talking with teams who are high to very high on Samuelsson.

I’m still on the fence regarding this but I understand the rationale.

D-men always take a while to hit their stride.

I’m willing to give Samuelsson more time.

Besides, I’ve never not seen a situation where a team will give an opportunity to a d-man with size. I don’t think it would be hard as hard to offload Samuelsson as some think if it were to come to that.

GM’s will just look at his height and weight and salivate.

Realistically, if you want to add a D, you need to trade Samuelsson, Joker, or Clifton.

I'd be shopping Joker at the TDL. Use those assets to make a deal over the summer. With their injuries, they probably won't.

I’d acquire the said d-man first before I worry about which guy I’m offloading.

Heck, if you can move Joker or Clifton in said trade I’m all for it, would Calgary like it though ?

That’s the question

I bet they could get a pretty good pick at the tel for joker.

I’d rather resign him personally.

I’d try and move smelicksson and his anchor contract

I like the idea where the Sabres finish the month strong and put themselves in the playoff race and Rasmus Andersson or Noah Hanifin are wearing a Sabres Jersey in March
